We pulled that trigger far too early that time. We weren't even that low down. Now is when we actually need a manager like that but the damage is done and he's not acceptable to the fanbase
We sacked a manager for finishing eighth. Now, fair play to Moshiri for trying to live up to NSNO and pushing the boat out for better, but it was ludicrous then and it looks even more ludicrous now. Eighth.

fact is he would have kept the job if we finished 10th and we were playing any decent football once we were safe.

Frankly, allardyce proved once and for all that he was a one trick pony at that stage

It was insanity, perfect example of how not to run a football club.
I mentioned this the other week about Charlton, Alan Curbishley at Charton, he nearly got them into the Champions League, they were doing well under him, he left when they started getting big ideas, the following season they got relegated and have never come back.
Some managers just suit certain clubs, meanwhile sone clubs and fans have delusional ideas of entitlement, Sam was perfect for us at that time

Perhaps so - but sacking him was a self indulgence that looks even more hilariously stupid now than it even did then.
But was he actually sacked? Thought he was brought in on a short term basis, fulfilled his duties ie. to keep us up, got rewarded for doing so and was then relieved of those duties to enable us to try and find a longer term alternative...which has really worked out well!

Takes some doing, but that is one of the worst takes I have ever read on here, bravo.
