Bike lights

I give up.

I want a simple rear bike light that goes on or off at the touch of a button, like the old days. Why must everything have faff designed in. Fewmin!

Every one I can find has numerous useless modes that try to make you look like some kind of Cylon/knightrider lovechild. Nor do i want to give drivers behind me some kind of fit with the strobing. Stuff that, I have no intention of wasting my time in the pouring rain clicking a fiddly tiny button x times to switch the bugger off.

Can anyone if you fine toffees recommend a brand/model?
Heard they're all designed by women who listen to Radio 4 nowadays, that'll be why.
Some days it seems that everything I come across that's new is not as good as what I'm used to. The world's gone potty. I don't like the clouds we had today either.

I use one of these. Only time you touch the button is after charging it. It turns itself off and gets brighter when you hit the brakes.
This is useful information (a genuine surprise in this thread!).

I looked them up on the amazon and within the first sentence I saw the word "flashing". However, you said "touch the button to turn on" and they turn off themselves (I guess there's vibration sensors to detect when you've thrown your bike back into the coal shed).

My questions to you as a valuable first hand reviewer:
One touch .... no flashing?
How long before it switches off? (I don't want it going off while I'm sat still like a ninja at the traffic lights (yes I'm a rare beast - a cyclist that waits at lights . . And also doesn't push in front of a line of cars that have just had tobovertake me so they can do it again).

Ta.

I was counting on that meme appearing 🤣

I'll bet that some vegetarian* in the woman's hour studio is behind the greatest lie known to man - the words "easy peel" on bacon packaging. My female is a vegetarian and her veggie bacon covering peels off perfectly and easily every time, so the technology clearly exists. Bacon though? A tool is needed every time - the words are there to taunt us.

*actually not a vegetarian - theu tend to be laud back and amenable in my experience... it'll be a vegan, they have more militant tendencies.

It turns itself off after a minute of complete inactivity then reactivates when the bike moves. It needs charged every 10-12 hours. If you have a dropper post and put it up and down at lights then the light won't have much of a chance to turn off.

There are various modes but just turn it on and leave it. Personally I use the glow effect and have a second back light thats on permanently.

A gentleman and a scholar. Pls can you tell all the other idiot cyclists to be more like you? Most cyclists nowadays boil my pee, especially as an ex/part time cyclist myself!

As a vegetarian who is a member of various veggie/vegan groups on FB, I can confirm this message!

This bike has an Intergrated rear light so if you buy this instead you won’t need to buy a rear light, although not sure if it flashes if that matters to you? 👍🏼
Belt drive! Very nice but the forks look horribly imbalanced. IMO
