Pretty fair appraisal of the life of us Evertonians I'd say chap.

But we live for the times when there are SCENES
 

Maybe he means that you won't spot as many blues since thier lot are more likely to wear replica tops, jackets, undies etc?

Saw him once do a talk in some place in the Yorkshire dales when I was younger, think he lived there for a while. I wasn't a fan but my parents were at the time, and tbh he came across as a really funny and interesting bloke.

I don't see anything wrong with the grumpy to suicidal part. When I go to a ground to see my team play, I go with the expectancy to see my team play well and get a result. Screw the happy singing like Palace for instance for 90 minutes when the team is not performing. Football is about emotion and sentiment. Why pretend to be happy when clearly I'm not? If I want a day out with only happy singing, I'd join a gospel choir instead.
