Bill Bryson

Quite. If he's a foreign adopted LFC fan (there's a first) I'm really not bothered what a fake Kopite thinks.

Not that there's anything wrong with our fans coming from other parts, of course.

I know a Bryson who lived near the Copplehouse he was a rednose as well...lives in Auckland now...good lad for all that though

I have took Americans to Goodison before and been asked the exact same thing, "why do you guys go the game to constantly moan". Just answer, Everton that.

Don't think we even realize it but obviously outsiders do.

The bit about no blues in the city is baffling though???

I genuinely reckon we are the most depressing fans in the country.

Only get going when it goes against us, there is a bad foul, we play the RS,UTD or we are 4-0 up.

We mock other clubs "ultra" style fans who basically enjoy the whole match singing and dancing while we sit in grumpy silence telling each other to sit down and how [Poor language removed] Osman is.

Have to reiterate what Yorkie and WA Toffee said. He probably didn't see any blue replica tops while he was in town. I suspect he may have seen the odd red one though.
As for the rest, well, it's true but what does he expect? Of course we're going to moan if our bums are cold.

Do like Bill though.

Another thing to remember is that he is a humourist. As such things will be mentioned out of context for more humourous effect. What match did he go to? What period was it?

If, for example, he'd gone to a match in spring 85, he wouldn't have heard any moaning or frozen his butt off. Whereas, if he went to a winter match during Walter Smith's or even a lot of Moyes's tenure, well....

I'm not surprised he thinks there ae no blues in the city. The RS have to advertise their allegience at every possible opportunity, we don't. So he will no doubt see a lot of RS shirts, but not so many Everon ones
This, maybe not many visible blues but if he knew more about the city he would know we don't need replica kits to be noticed. We are just the handsome dreamboats not dressed like 11 year olds.

I genuinely have no clue who he is, and even if I did, I wouldn't give a toss.

That said, he's pretty much spot on with what he said, except for the obvious ridiculous comment about no Blues in the city. If he only counts the full kit fans, because he's too stupid to realise that isn't exactly normal behaviour around town, then he's 100% right though.

Looking forward to watching the new film adaptation of a walk in the woods. The book was pretty decent, not in my top 3 of his though. Small island, big country and the Australian one were better IMO.

was really surprised at how a travel writer can be as narrow minded as him, he also lacks wit and was a scab, him and his fan base are perfect kopite material, even worse travel advice than chico
