I remember him being on a day time chat show years ago and he was declaring his undying love for us and the presenter said, we have a special clip for you and when they went to the monitor I expected a clip of a cup final win or the Bayern game. But no, it was the Wimbledon game and he was all gooey eyed. That is the level of his ambition. Crazy.

A few short years later, after Coventry he declared "Never again" yet here we are, 24 years later with Mr Everton still perched on the throne.

Surrounds himself with 'good Evertonians' and keeps large swathes of the press onside. (no doubt with the occasional 'scoop' for his friends)

Utterly shameless. If anything is named after him at Bramley Moore, a stand, a lounge, even a toilet.... It shows as a club we reward failure.

Get out.

Who are the 9.9% ? And more importantly, how many multi's has Carlin got, on Got ? lol lol lol
Our problem as fans as even if we object we generally can't be arsed with any kind of protest. It's supposedly 'kopite behavior' and frowned upon.

The last few home games we have had positive fan behaviour Kopites can only dream of. If that same energy was directed towards the board they'd vacate pretty sharpish.

The sad reality is, people know the board is pretty much useless but only care about what they see on the pitch. There's a very distinct connection between the two, but we would rather ignore it and chant Goodison Road.

Don't get me wrong, as fans we SHOULD only care about what's on the pitch. When things get steadily worse over a prolonged period it's not just the manager or poor recruitment, it's a company wide problem. It needs fixing or we're back here in again next season or the season after.

In his interview after the Palace game. Frank said the club needs to look at itself from top to bottom and I think people have indicated there's going to be changes. Anyone ITK what these changes might be.

I dont think its completely impossible. You can still build something but you do need the income from playing (at a minimum) in the UEFA Cup regularly to start to move forward... even that, however, is beyond us.

Kenwright isn't the only one guilty of mismanagement and letting standards drift. But he runs the club on a day to day basis. Its his responsibility in the end if stuff doesn't work like it should.

Hopefully some of this is the stuff Lampard said he had to let go until he had time to address it.
Got a picture in my mind of him chucking diving headers in for Tosuns benefit..."got to attack the ball Cenk, get across the defender"

Agree, " being a blue" has helped him an awful lot over the years and gave him a lot of leeway, too much in my view with our fans. Following a kopite Peter Johnson gave Bill a lot of time as well as did David Moyes who worked miracles on a sell before you buy policy that lasted 11 years and kept the dogs from his door. He also has had a ridiculously good relationship with the local rag for years. I went the first couple of Blue Union meetings, the second at the Casa i think and if memory serves me Howard Kendall was at that one. Then onto the match against Villa, in the Park End that day, still remember his mug on the screen and parts of the crowd clapping, was it Sharp and his untrue, infamous one man and his dog quote on the radio afterwards. I knew then Kenwright was here for keeps, there was no getting rid of him and his ego, to our cost, the gap between us and liverpool has never been greater in my lifetime.

Sharp had absolutely no business saying that. Made me sick a childhood hero could be bought off so easily.

Club Ambassador? Kim Jung-Bill propaganda minister more like.

He's a canny operator, surrounds himself with sycophants and cheerleaders. Belew being the latest to sell out for a front row in the directors box. I'd be quite happy to never see any of them again.

The Blue Union had proper Everton expectations. It's a crying shame a large proportion of our fanbase made them realise its like trying to sweep water uphill.

It's the sole reason one of the greatest goalkeepers ever on the Planet Neville Southall has never been invited back, didn't toe the party line, still like Sharp for what he was, but will never love respect / him like Big Nev..

I mean it could be that these "sycophants" are actually just expressing their actual opinion and actually believe what they are saying.

It's a mad concept I know.

I guess Lampard is a sycophant now too?

Everyone has an opinion mate, just not everyone will agree with yours or my opinion, but at the same time should be able to express it. Fair enough pal ?

It's really hard this issue with Kenwright & ex-blues at our club, but then it isn't. I get it - it's great to have people who love the club here, working for it. But it's crucial that we also have skilled people who can do the job. We definitely have enough money to pay well - at least promoting executives, coaching staff and Finch Farm staff with smaller PL or Championship clubs, if we can't compete with the Champions league clubs. We should be always looking out to improve our staff.
Big Dunc, Kenwright, Unsworth, Jeffers, Ebbrell, and some others, are unfortunately symbols of the mediocrity. Yes, they are blues, but they only have the FA Cup to show as experience of success, and we need to combine blue blooded people with skilled coaches who want to make a name for themselves. even if we're currently 'just a Premier League team' we are still a big draw for ambitious football staff (coaches, medical, training, physios etc). And now to work with Lampard & His staff, and a good group of 10-12 players in the first XI, at least 10-15 from U18-U23 are decent, good pay and good job prospects - we should be attracting excellent staff.

Our outlook is a bit old fashioned. It's easy to combine both love for the club with people who are not connected to Everton and BK and DBB need to understand this and either do it or quit straight away! Lampard is a great example - a big Chelsea man, but he's fallen in love with Everton, or at least knows how to deal with the passion, expectation and connection with fans at Everton.
