Kings Dock - Could have happened, but it would have meant relaxing his vice like grip on his trainset. Non-Starter

Kirkby - Nudf said

Walton Hall Park - I never really felt this had any genuine momentum. The cynical side of me suspects it was little more than a 'Look, we tried' exersize.

There was of course a 4th option, a redeveloped Goodison which would have been feasible, no matter what the club tells people. The issue was Bills mates wouldn't make any money off that. When you also factor in the club didn't have the money to do it, or the faith from the banks they could pay it off. Never going to happen.

Bramley Moore will be lovely, particularly in about 10 years when the Ten Streets is fully up and running as well as a (hopefully) much progressed Liverpool Waters.

I do feel KD was massive missed opportunity, commercially its put us at least 20 years behind where we could have been today.

Still, he saved us from that Kopite Johnson, eh lads.

King's Dock was basically what ended up being the Echo Arena right?

That would have been a huge game changer having a ground right in the City like that

Yes, we only needed 30m pounds and it would have triggered all kinds of grants for the build (both National and European)

That really is 'Effectively free' as opposed to the approx 100m we needed for a cow shed in Kirkby. (Wyness used the same "effectively free" phrase for that. And people fell for it)

I was hugely excited for KD, it was going to be state of the art features wise (for the time.) and Marshmallow Head stuffed it up with his ego and desperation to stay in complete control.

I'm excited for Bramley Moore, but as I said earlier.... We're at least 20 years behind where we should be. The commercial gap is probably insurmountable.

Christ if you'd have walked into your local natwest and asked for 30m for a city centre football stadium back then they would have given it to you.

Every time I look at the Echo I long for what could have been to be honest

That being our stadium would have been immense

We didn't need to.

We had 2 x Board Members willing to loan it to the club for a greater say as well as control over non-football events at the stadium (Concerts/Conferences etc)

Kenwright instead Invented the Fortress Sports Fund and wheeled out Chris Samuelson as his stooge at the AGM claiming the money would be in the bank tomorrow morning. He lied to shareholders. A criminal offence. Echo obvs didn't give two shits.

To be fair to the council they held our reservation as preferred bidder for far longer than they needed to before eventually giving it for the Arena.

Yeah, I remember it going down.

Perhaps the first example of Bill putting his role as Blue number 1 ahead of what's good for the club.

King's Dock and its retractable pitch and fireworks right in the heart of the city would have been amazing, and could potentially have propel us to better things, and not a further 20-odd years of nothingness. Alas, Kenwright couldn't lose control of the club, so allowed it to fall through and ultimately tried to take the club outside of the city. Somehow he's still here, and no doubt he'll revel in proclaiming himself as a huge factor in the success of Bramley Moore Dock if it turns out to be one.

The man is utterly shameless.

I really think he's so deluded he probably believes he's done a great job as Chairman.

The confusing part is people still support him, when ALL the evidence of his shambolic reign is available, free of charge in the public domain.

There is absolutely no doubt he thinks he has done and is still doing a fantastic job but know one in the media will call him out

Never forgave Kenwright for that and how he got away with Chris Samuelson saga, even wheeling him out at the AGM ! Boris Johnson would have been proud of those lies.

History will judge him
And History is written by the victors
So who exactly are these victors?
Perish the very thought and may it never happen etc,
His eventual Obituaries from various different perspectives should make for interesting and Probably Illuminating reading.
@GrandOldTeam got yours all polished and up to date?

To his credit, he/Everton's board are brilliant at PR/managing the media.

Our survey is approaching 4k responses - we could put it under the nose of countless journos and they won't touch it.

That's not very nice mate.

I'm sorry for any unintended offence and I don't wish him or anybody for that matter any iIl will.
I'm nearly as old as him and at that age you have to look the question of your own and your contemporaries mortality...and if you have a history (I don't) - how that history will be viewed. Well you don't have to if you dont want to, but you see the point.
Due to the, shall we say, Polarised nature of opinions, the question was asked in a spirit of genuine enquiry.
Different people can, do and will see him in different lights.
I know for a fact that all newspapers keep rough copies of Obits of the great and good and up date them every so often.
You can bet writers in many Fleet St offices (I know they all in Wapping now or some such place) have recently been up dating The Queen's.
Again, no offence was meant.
