It's been proven there was a clear attempt to set a narrative against fans.

It was clear as day from the timing of the clubs statement - confirmed by comments from the likes of Ian Wright who confirmed they'd been briefed.

I'm in agreement with that, particularly after the 'headlock' incident which seemed to have no evidence or clear narrative behind what actually happened.

But SURELY after the fallout from that they wouldn't be as stupid to remove it themselves and blame it on fans again? We have history of defacing the stadium when we want our feelings heard, I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that a couple of blues have taken it down overnight.

Like I said before, I know for a fact that Prentice briefed people the night before, and he was making phone calls before 9am on the Saturday calling them in.

If fans have taken it down, it would be sensible for them to not acknowledge it as it would incite the fan base; they'd need to evidence the event with CCTV.

I don't think fans have taken it down

If anything, it's been defaced, then taken down.

But, based on the events of the last couple of months I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's been taken down for posturing.

The club have been approached for comment. There's plenty of cameras there.

Perhaps its not safe to be there with the nasty thug fans, just like its not safe for the board to attend games - apparently.

Possibly, although I don't see it. Mainly because I'm not sure what it does for them. What can be gained by the club doing this? It's a picture of Bill that's been removed, something of little value or significance. I'm not even certain TV cameras would be hankering to get in on this as it's so paper thin.

The headlock made sense as it represented a direct threat of physical violence against them. This is just... well, nothing really.

The headlock story just substantiated their reasoning for deciding to release a totally unnecessary statement a few hours before fan protests ahead of a significant game.

If you can't see they released that statement and fabrication to control the narrative and to undermine fan protests, then we're never going to agree.

If you can see that, then you'll understand why anything that could paint fans are thugs wouldn't surprise me.

I don't think fans removing a picture of Kenwright from the main stand paints us as thugs, though. Surely if you wanted to cause detriment or undermine the protest you'd take it a little further than that.

If you're right and they have framed (for lack of a better word) the fanbase here, I still don't see many news outlets picking this up and it affecting the real story at hand. But we'll see, I suppose.

... I'm not a conspiracy nut and I'm contradicting myself here in that speculation and second guessing only serves to detract from the real argument.

But I've lost all trust in the current custodians who I feel are entirely self serving and have thrown fans under the bus and will continue to do so.

I'll never trust this board again.

👏👏👏👏👏👏

The club wouldn't take it down for that reason.

Just like they dont go taking down Fellaini after he left, Martinez, Moyes etc etc.

Either fans have took it down, or the club have.

I doubt fans could take it down so cleanly, and without detection.
Seems fairly clear the club has taken It down due to a ‘viable threat of vandalism’.
The pantomime is getting tedious now.

Exactly right, it's either been defaced and taken down or preemptive move from the club because of how high risk it is, I mean it's not like anyone has had the chance to do this since January...

No supporter would take it down in such a 'clean' way. Much more likely to spray over it.
