Bill Kenwright

His statement provided the perfect summary of why anyone from my generation has been deprived of this club competing at the top end of the game.

And as much as he is to blame, there are a huge amount of our supporters who sleepwalked into this. They believed the idea of plucky little Everton happy to be mentioned in the same sentence as the big clubs. We've ended up being content to share the same league as teams we used to compete against regularly for the best honours in the game.

The most depressing aspect of it all is that barring a Manchester City type reset we are never going to get back to the days, which until Kenwright came along could be considered normal. There are other owners of years gone by from around the country that have quickly destroyed clubs in space of a few years, but with Bill it's been more painful. Death by a thousand cuts. Each season taking us further away from where we once where.

Personally I think we are at the point where the damage is irreparable, but I'll still derive some pleasure from him being hounded out of the club. If it results in fracturing his delusion filled ego enough to make him at least question his role in the demise of Everton it would be a something. We've all lived in pain for long enough; it's about time he did too.

i wouldn’t be shocked to hear that he’s commissioning a statue of him to be placed at the new gaff

Perfect mate I was lucky enough to see us win nearly everything but still gone through the misery also Wimbledon Coventry, he's a joke and is finished at our club he thought he was our savior from the Johnson era had his own agenda only he touched lucky with Moyes we would have been in the mud at that time, blew kings dock because he wanted full control. He's the one who has destroyed us mister Everton my arse

He's going to keep feeding all the attention, drama and recognition that comes with being chairman into that bottomless void of insecurities that he calls a soul just so that he can get the constant validation that his ego needs to survive... And he'll end up swallowing our whole club with it if we don't get him out soon, FFS!

Do people think after this latest nonsense 👇 more will wake up to the damage Bill Kenwright is causing to Everton Football Club?

No Bill an Everton without you is a stronger football club. This cretin has been on the board of directors since 1989. He's had a good run at it, it's time to go now.

Seriously Kenwright can shove his weasel words right up his hole. He needs to go and he needs to go now. Ha ha ha this muppet speaking with dewy eyed affection about that Palace game. Celebrating just about staying up. This man and his cheerleaders, are just happy enough with Everton remaining as a no mark and an also ran.

The weasel words in his statement along with his actions and decisions over the years, that have caused great harm and damage to this football club, is proof enough that Bill Kenwright no longer has any business being involved with Everton Football Club.

Shove your statement up your arse Kenwright and just go. Forget about honorary titles, he doesn't deserve that. He only deserves to be kicked out of this club, with his tail tucked firmly between his legs!

Those notes are a frightening realisation that he’s going nowhere. He genuinely thinks there is a way back. He just cannot see how huge the disconnect is between him and the fans. I actually thought they were a parody when I read the odd snippet last night before I saw the full thing in all it’s unmitigated, grim horror. As our nearest and dearest neighbours were chasing 4 trophies, he lauds an away win at Leicester City as evidence of “good times”. He even lies about that statement- outside the ground he said the fans had had good times, not him. The man has single handedly been the driver of our decline, the price we’ve all had to pay for him to star in his own “Chairman Bill” blockbuster show. It comes to something when Peter Johnson, an actual Kopite who owned us, performed better as Chairman than this mediocre loser.
I said this before but Peter Johnson won us a trophy, was unbeaten against the rs and signed our greatest player of the premier league era in Andrei Kanchelskis.

The agent Johnson stuff was a load of bs. He was doing a good job as chairman until his business went into financial difficulty. Seriously the Kenwright years have shown up the Johnson era in another light entirely.

We did have a chairman who wanted the best for this football club. Peter Johnson wanted success for this football club and he actually delivered it. That's the absolute truth. Those are the facts of the situation. Peter Johnson 1 trophy Bill Kenwright 0 trophies. The proof of the pudding is in the eating after all.

With regard to the Johnson era and enjoying the benefit of hindsight the ‘ be careful what you wish for ‘adage was very accurate.

He needed to sell the club at that point though. He just ran out of cash in the end.

It's just that he sold the club to Bill Kenwright, who then in turn sold the club to Moshiri. Johnson sold the club to the devil himself sadly.

The damage is repairable. But it will take a lot of time and effort.

The sooner he goes, the sooner we get on that long hard road. It'll be tough but I'd rather we were struggling for long term stability and the ability to challenge for success consistently than in the gutter under Kenwright.

From what I can tell reading some articles back during those times, a very big turning point was BK not agreeing to Paul Gregg's proposal to dissolve True Blue Holdings which would've allowed external investment in. Gregg had people lined up willing to invest, including Lord Grantchester, but BK blocked it. Maybe Gregg and Grantchester themselves wouldn't have been the answer, but that probably would've left us open for other investment opportunities down the line.

He's a terrible smell that won't go away; a cancerous growth that cannot be surgically removed; the dog poo underneath your shoe that you've walked all over the carpet and cannot seem to get rid of.

He won't go of his own accord and the owner won't remove him. We can only continue to show our displeasure at the board and hope one day they'll make a change. Apart from that we're powerless.
