In a nutshell, that statement tells me that he still hasn't got the message, which is no surprise. Bill thinks he is Everton Football Club. If he remains chairman then we are done as a going concern and Everton will be dead before him. He has to be removed because he will not resign.
I slightly disagree in the content - it was still tone deaf but he acknowledges his tenure as chairman being trophyless - I don’t think I have heard that from him before, but then he goes on to wax lyrical around glorious escapes, so he’s still a loon, but there was some acknowledgement of his failure…..I agree he needs to be removed

His statement provided the perfect summary of why anyone from my generation has been deprived of this club competing at the top end of the game.
Exactly, he's been involved for a generation, under the current "fair play" rules it mate take a generation to get anything like consistently competitive.
And as much as he is to blame, there are a huge amount of our supporters who sleepwalked into this. They believed the idea of plucky little Everton happy to be mentioned in the same sentence as the big clubs. We've ended up being content to share the same league as teams we used to compete against regularly for the best honours in the game.
Exactly. Happy to snatch the odd home win against 'big' teams who were arguably smaller than us for many years.

We've allowed him to bullshit us over 'achievements' as success.

We have the club we deserve. Plenty of us have been beating the Kenwright drum for over 15 years, it's great that people are waking up but it's
Personally I think we are at the point where the damage is irreparable, but I'll still derive some pleasure from him being hounded out of the club. If it results in fracturing his delusion filled ego enough to make him at least question his role in the demise of Everton it would be a something. We've all lived in pain for long enough; it's about time he did too.
I'll genuinely celebrate like a cup win when he leaves the board.

I don't care if he resigns, is fired or drops stone dead. The celebration will be exactly the same.

I don't believe for a second that he takes responsibilty for us being trophyless during his tenure so it's an empty gesture in my eyes.

Everything in that statement was written for the benefit of him and his image. He still thinks the Everton public are gulliable and can be cajoled with rhetoric. His latest statement just reconfirms that he is a deluded narcissist and a massive danger to this club.

There is some recourse for the minority shareholders i.r.o The Companies Act.

They can have him removed if he's grossly negligent and his actions are directly and clearly destroying the club.

But in order to do so, their case must be airtight, ie... They need to prove that he has diminish mental capacity or he has done something unlawful. Or something along those lines... 🙄

Like a 10 point penalty for breaking the rules ?

Agree but whilst we all know it’s a fact that under his ownership/chairmanship we have won fa, it’s the first time he has acknowledged it…..I would have thought someone like him wouldn’t acknowledge it all, but I accept it is worded in such a self pitying way…..it’s a ‘I know I’ve been sh1t BUT blah blah blah….
