No scientific metric but I feel like there’s a hell of a lot less kids knocking around with Everton shirts on these days.

Even the kids you do see, you can almost tell the Dads have had to force the shirt on them!

Because the shirts are crap mate. I never get my son any of the shirts as they're about the same standard and quality of a Primark t shirt

It's mindbending to me that the protests are only a couple of thousand people yet the pubs and pavements are packed with fans moaning about the state of the club.

If supporters can't be arsed then I seriously don't know what they're moaning for.

The shrug of the shoulders approach the majority have taken over the years has merely cemented the position of Kenwright and his paid team of rimmers.

Just fold the club and be done with it.
Standard Evertonian response… Bitch and moan whilst doing nothing yet continuing to pump money into the club

The kids footie team my lad plays for has more Blues than Reds to be fair, and I’d say in training midweek with all the other teams in the club, there’s probably a 50-50 split at the moment between Everton and Liverpool.

It’s not that, all footy shirts are a similar quality yet there’s no end of Liverpool shirts around

tbh mate I still see a 50/50 split when I take my daughter to school with the younger kids.

When it comes to my 14 year old son, there's lads now who support the likes of City, Chelsea, Arsenal in his school who barely have no connection to these clubs at all.

Not like when I was younger where you were either Everton or Liverpool and if it was neither well there was something wrong with you (later in life I realised these were the most sensible people lol)

A lot of the kids have foreign kits now as well. I can see them wanting to wear them more for training if we go down.

Go down and this may well be the case, the implications of relegation are that scary!
Terrifying, and it’s all down to the utter incompetence of the board and the owner!

Stop challenging for trophies and the top six becomes acceptable.

Not good enough for the top six and mid-table becomes acceptable.

Not good enough for mediocrity and relegation is inevitable.

That's the slide over 30+ years.

Stagnation followed by decline ending in this. Let's hope it's not followed by collapse.

Yeah it feels like this club has been suffering a death from a thousand cuts since 1987.

There was optimism during the early days of the Joe Royle and David Moyes era. It was there for that first season under Roberto Martinez as well. There was also bit of a buzz and optimism when Carlo Ancelotti was manager.

Other than that though it's been a slow, agonising and prolonged slide to the bottom. It's kind of ironic that it's looks like we're finally going down on the 25th anniversary of that Gareth Farrelly/Coventry City game.

We have been top flight ever presents, but let's be honest here since 1987 we've just been like Coventry City when they were in the top flight. We were there but we also weren't really there, because that 1995 FA Cup win apart we've done nothing of any relevance whatsoever in the premier league era.

We've never even made as much as one credible attempt at winning a league title since 1987. This is all on the so called guardians and custodians of this club over the past thirty six years, but it's also on us the fans for just placidly sitting back and allowing this to happen. Our bed is made and we have to lie in it now, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum my arse.

Couldn’t agree more.

Since he got his claws in properly, the club has existed solely to be run by Kenwright. Everything else became secondary at best.

If moving to Kings Dock meant that he'd have to step aside, it wasn't worth doing.

If competing in the transfer market meant that he'd have step aside, it wasn't worth doing.
