A very complex and multi-layered lie this one. On one hand it was a “follow me to Kirkby or Goodison is going to fall down” so he could have his name all over a new stadium and swan off with that as his legacy, on the other it was a way of trying to turn people against KEIOC essentially saying they were putting match going fans in danger by opposing the Kirkby move.
