The stupid thing is they didn't even need to promise 48 hours, they could have been more vague and got away with it. Why go out of your way to promise something you won't deliver?
All they said was "A statement will be made about interim appointments and the future of the Chairman in the next 48 hours."

The timing is almost irrelevant here. It's the future of the Chairman that's critical and there's no reason to believe he doesn't have a future...

That's my point though, if they'd said "in due course" instead we'd all have still known change was coming but we wouldn't be sitting 48 hours later feeling once again let down and lied to. It's like they go out of their way to alienate people.

A new role is being created to guide and monitor the delivery of the new stadium without the distraction of running the football club. Bill will perform that role up to and including the official opening sometime in late 24 early 25. He will advise the new board regularly and will conduct the opening ceremony, culminating in a lavish send-off as he departs. Nobody loses face. That is my guess. This could all be shoite of course, and he gets unceremoniously booted out tomorrow.

He's just agreeing royalties etc for when the new ground is named in his honour. They're having a sculpture of his head made to fit the Dixie statue so they can replace THE greatest Evertonian with the self-proclaimed greatest Evertonian....saves a few quid on having the full statue cast.

Can't we just tell him to [Poor language removed]?
