There was no protests, none were planned.
Was there still a security alert in place?
I'm presuming the club said nothing about the chairman being absent for the opening game of the season.

There was no official explanation as I far as I know, but the club has always been abysmal as communications and pr with the fans. I think he's still trying to keep a low profile then hoping for a miraculous change in form so he can just pretend like nothing has happened

Not so sure about that, go out into the wider world outside the context of football and that's even more ammunition to say how horrible Everton fans are. Pretty sure the general perception in those circles is that football fans are backwards, aggressive and bigoted so I imagine it'd be more likely to widen the divisions when the police got involved

I am sure about it....Not one our protests has turn violent,infact the protesters have been brilliant. All it takes is people outside with banners...no aggression,no violence...dead simple. So basically I think you're wrong here.
