Every eight days here, unless there's a stat holiday (a bank holiday for you lot), in which case add an extra day. No pickups on weekends, so if one pickup day is a Friday, the next is a week the following Monday. No wonder this joke of a city I live in has to distribute calendars to residents every year to remind us which $@@#%%# day is garbage day.

Its on a Thursday around here, like the bloody Alamo. If you are not quick getting your recycling bags in they disappear to one of the neighbouring Eastern European families never too be seen again.
Recyclables every Monday and black bags and glass every three weeks on a Thursday.
We have a few massive steel food/general rubbish bins that serve all the residents of the block, they get emptied every Friday. There are also a collection of different coloured bins for recycling but, since I do not recycle, I have no idea when they get emptied.

They tried to take ours from weekly to fortnightly and all hell broke loose. 4 weeks would be riots.

Alternated every other Friday. My favourite colour is purple and I've been drink free for about 19 seconds.

I caught a neighbour putting a carrier bag that clearly wasn't recyclable materials in my blue recycling bin a few years back. Her husband knocked the door about 15 minutes later to apologise. I'm a specimen mate. It could have gone either way, If he'd been on the Stella and fancied a pop then I would have turned into the hound from game of thrones and slaughtered the whole street. Bin stuff is no stroll, it's a minefield. Oy number 18, leave my bins alone.
