BIT COIN (S)

Don't do it fam, slippery slope and before you know it you're waking up in a bath of ice and some Russian has stolen your vital organs. It's a murky world and you're definitely getting murdered by shady characters if you invest.

Put it in a cash ISA and be happy that inflation is your biggest enemy.

Boring

I saved your life blud, better than you losing all your money and your wife seeking comfort from another man who hasn't thrown his money at risky ventures. Before you invest, just ask yourself "Can I cope with spending the rest of my life making minimal monthly maintenance payments from my JSA, whilst my ex-wife gets stuck into some prime young cock and lives it up?"

If you can live with that then go for it.

Wow, OK @bol-uk although you are not my brother in law you certainly argue like him.

I can see the building on the Isle of Man with the office that trades BitCoin in it out of my office window. I have more windows in my personal office than they do for their entire operation.

I will leave this debate how I left it with him. You do not know why the price has risen and you do not know why it will fall. You do not understand the risks that 'investment' in BitCoins brings. However, you are a big boy, so whatever you decide to do is down to you. You can afford to lose all your capital invested. It is entirely unregulated.

I truly hope you are a lucky one and that you get in and out at a profit. There will be thousands who lose their shirts, or maybe their pensions. There will be people jailed.

And with that, Good Luck !!

Pics of your office?

Are you not going to make a move, or are you conceding defeat already?

Looks to me like it would drop to 850 from a technical perspective but this is a different beast to FX.

edit id need to see a more up to date chart...none of the finance lads I know have touched it

I always invest based on 2013 data, what's the problem here? If you can't extrapolate the data, just pay twice the ask price and you're covered.
Difference though mate - no.1 broker in traditional, regulated markets = good , no.1 broker in an unregulated area linked heavily to criminal transactions = not really worth anything.

Also, as your charts show, you've missed the value. Looking at that, you'd be better of waiting for it to settle again at some around the 850/900 mark and hoping for another spike (perhaps Canada).

@bol-uk

You can only see the growth because its what you want to see...always see the risk first.

If you're looking for high returns then this always comes with high risk...or everyone would do it.

Mein Frandel if you think a forecast growth from 4600$ today to 10807$ in January 2018 (from 508.7$ in January 2016) is safe, secure, sustainable and legitimate, go right ahead.

Those forecast lines through the charts are amusing...what logic are they based upon?

I propose GOT sets up a bitcoin consultancy arm and we all make wild predictions based upon how many corners we get on average per game multiplied by the total of the combined numbers on players shirts...

It's not the player, its the game...

I'm so far past being prime cock that it's quite depressing. I watch these skeleton like men walking about in skinny jeans, oversized trainers and quiffs thinking they're the dogs bollocks, then realise the girls are looking lustfully at them and realise my best days are gone.

*Lashes all the kids savings on bitcoins*

That's a paradoxical reply hence why I stated 'or everyone would do it'.

People often do the least reasonable things; don't defend risk with a tautology; Ed Thorp is one of the most successful US hedge fund/investors, generating ridiculous returns with his trades, but I doubt you'll hear him describe them as "high risk;" knoweth thy math, knoweth thy game

Suddenly I'm reminded of some wisdom regarding pearls and swine...

If you want an exciting investment I'm looking for a backer to purchase up to 1 kilogram of pure Bolivian powder, I guarantee you at least your investment back unless we get nicked and of course also unless I'm bigger than you, in which case you'll get naff all.

Same as you will with these moody online investments, mert.

Still, it will be exciting, every leased Audi S3 turning your corner will give you that sense of trepidation, 'is that Jal with a return on my investment'?

Alas, it won't be, not this time, because you're asking muppets on GOT for serious advice on financial investments whilst most of us are spotty virgins who live in our ma's spare room, pretending to be big men of the world on a football message board.

Happy to help. Xx
