People often do the least reasonable things; don't defend risk with a tautology; Ed Thorp is one of the most successful US hedge fund/investors, generating ridiculous returns with his trades, but I doubt you'll hear him describe them as "high risk;" knoweth thy math, knoweth thy game

Of course he wont describe them as high risk or people would not invest. He would need to declare his risk though, obviously.

I have friends and contacts who post over 300% annual returns, every single year.

Hasn't burst yet, but any chart that goes parabolic over such a short timeframe eventually heads straight back down.

TBH if you have the saturday football crowd all thinking they can get in on the party then it's the surest sign that the peak is probably here.
