blue union meeting.

The BU needs to get themselves into a position where the doors are no longer locked, that performance added another lock on the door in my opinion.
.

What they were told by Kenwright himself when they interviewed him proved what some people thought all along. I think too many people who have stood by blue Bill didn't like that and then claimed the BU went about things the wrong way.

The crap he came out with in that interview was nothing short of grim and he deserved outing. Unfortunately the element of fan base that had backed him dug their heels in and did not like the truth about the wrong horse they backed.

I can't stand the board and have supported the Blue Union on and off. There's certainly a need for a decent fans pressure group.

But to try and launch some new attack because an academic architect has come up with "a plan" is a bit of a nonsense. That hotel in the scheme would be the mother of all white elephants! Town is packed on a weekend with people that want to walk around the docks and Matthew st. You'd only get the committed blue that's want to stay in L4!

My understanding is the whole Walton park idea is based on it enabling wider development to help the club make a profit around the stadium to help with the cost. Redeveloping Goodison will never do that.

If someone is out there with £200m then we're in business either with a redeveloped Goodison or a new stadium elsewhere. But whilst we're stuck with this shower of s<€# then it has to somehow pay for itself.

Kings Dock was the one but we blew it.

But maybe the blue union know something we don't and Premier Inn have all of a sudden gone mad into the footy niche market and want a 900 room hotel off County Road after all....

It's a real shame any time the BU comes up it has to be so polarizing.

Surely it would be in their best interest to try to unite the fans.

To be fair, they've presented some positive ideas on how to improve us and move us forward.

Maybe it's time people stopped attacking them and actually listened to them.

And if they disagree, fine. But at least suggest an alternative. Sniping and not suggesting an alternative is what the Blue Union have been accused of for the last 4 years. Why their critics have to start doing this now is baffling and frustrating.

Win the crowd and you will win your freedom.

Ok,point taken, but still too much sneering of their motives in my opinion.

This is real life mate not Hollywood ;)

It's true though, get the majority of fans on your side and through sheer weight of numbers the message will be unavoidable across the country. (You might want Goat to help with the weight of numbers here the woolly mess).

Has to be done properly or else you're in danger of looking like that Newcastle mob.

Norwich City have had a successful hotel at Carrow Road for the last 7 years. It opened as part of their redeveloped Jarrold Stand.

There's a lot more to do in Liverpool than there is Norwich. There's clearly a demand for hotels. A hotel attached to a historic Premier League football clubs' magnificent redeveloped stadium would be a draw. There's at least one major match, often 2, played in the area for 38 weeks of the year, and that's before business conferences and basic tourism for the city is factored in.

You need to have a vision. It's the whole point behind regeneration projects - taking an area and transforming it.
