Of course they were employed by the board, this other guys being put forward by the BU.

You say the cost is cheaper, are you taking that from the detailed plan @sageyefc posted on the other page? Or the drawings posted last night? If a builder handed you them and said he could do the job for X amount you'd laugh him out of your house.

Apart from the fact we don't know how much a new stadium will cost or what it would be like, you can't say it's cheaper when you've got nothing to compare it to.

I am just going by an expert who has already been involved with 2 PL clubs ground redevelopment estimate. Can't do much more than look at it and either meddle a bit or dismiss it totally. I am fairly sure a few extensions to the ground would be far cheaper than a brand new ground. Unless of course Bill & co find someone to pay for the new ground. I would certainly afford time to look at this blokes plans if it means staying at Goodison rather than dismissing him because of BU association.

The model with the hotel has always been wishful thinking mate, it's not a sound business model.

There is nothing new to see here, these plans have been around for years, they have been unreadable for about as long. It's a reboot today in an attempt to make the group relevant. Wasn't there a video and everything.

Circles all over the shop here, now the agenda is to stay at Goodison rather then WHP.

What a steaming pile of turd.
Not really. Many clubs have redeveloped their stadiums

This might be a ridiculous statement here, but you never know unless you ask.

Could crowdfunding help out here? I know these are some vast sums of money but if the club offered a system up, say you donated a tenner and got an picture signed by the squad, £150 and they put on a special do with the players that you could attend, £500 and you could get all the above and a plaque built into the redeveloped Goodison, and then big things for people who donate thousands, like a seat in the new development for x number of years.

Could be absolute pie in the sky but I would donate, possibly quite a lot.

Trying to engage a can-do attitude and apply it to Everton!

I like this idea also!

Not really - it says a lot about the club's power within the local media to tarnish a group's name and then give them no air time or print space.

It's an open secret that Radio City has a ban on anyone ringing up the phone in to criticise the board because Graeme 'Two men and a dog' Sharp hosts the phone in. Radio Merseyside to a lesser extent isn't keen on board criticism. The Red Echo banned its' reporters from attending and reporting on any of the Blue Union meetings from 2011 to 2014.

None of this is fantasy. All of this true and well known. Like with anything, hearts and minds need to be won. If there's no coverage, especially positive coverage, nothing gains traction and we get threads like this full of people sneering, mocking, bashing fellow Evertonians for suggesting ideas on how to move the club forward.

What does the club do? What does the club suggest? At least these supporters are trying.

And these ARE viable ideas, because lots of other seemingly lesser clubs than Everton can do redevelopment stuff like this. There is no reason why we can't, and if there is a reason, it's because someone is at fault and not running their business properly.
Very Well put Sir

Back to the Future....

Wheeling this out yet again, knowing that the club are focused on WHP, to ensure that there's a complete contrary position taken by them and another opportunity to split the fanbase based on some fag packet drawings and 'costings' pulled out of someone's hoop.

But this goes back to the fact that for years the BU have attacked the board and other supporters for accepting second best and not showing ambition, now with WHP on the table from the council a new stadium is clearly the better option than a make do and mend of Goodison.

Sake mate. I'm literally asking what are they doing and if it makes a difference as I don't know.

Why are people so defensive about it??
Think it might be because anything the BU try to do is immediately poo hooed without substance. They are a group of fanatical Evertonians who can see things are not right at the club and want to have a voice. Some reason (probably exposing BK as someone out of his depth) is stopping them from being heard and listened to.

It's been stated earlier in the thread, it's this very thing that puts off fans who are less informed about the board.
To be fair Groucho if you are'nt informed about the board by now you are never going to be,the people who are by nature
online on most forums are either for or against and the vast majority of fans take club information from local media

As long as BU keeps representing them selves as a separate group and a opposite force against our board it cant attract serious following. It has to evolve in the matter that it could be seen as a partner. I doubt they could do that cause obviously they dont trust them.
I still feel this redevelopment thingy is partly strategic move by BU.

It's incredible that people fall for it time after time.

How hypocritical of the BU to shout about short term plans with no vision and then dismiss a potential new purpose built stadium on free land.
