70 goals in 115 games for PickeringGoal ratio Pickering was as high as you could get ....
10 grand he won 30 league goals per season or the payrise - he was after a pittance to what p!Ayers of his class get today ..,..Remember as a kid outside the main stand chanting with a crowd "Give Bobby Latchford his money", can't remember what money tho ?
Always remember being at Goodison the night he scored his 100th Everton goal,it was against Stoke and me and my dad had won a competition for a couple of tickets in the "VIP" area of the main stand, right behind the directors box,I was only 10 at the time, but I always remember the padded seats and an elderly uniformed commissionaire showing us to our seats! But yes you're right, the goals had dried up for him,I think he'd been stuck on 99 for at least a couple of months and he didn't get many more for us after that. He did score plenty for Swansea though, one of my favourite big Bob moments was when he came back with them and scored a late consolation goal (I think we were 3-0 up at the time),the whole stadium cheered and he just turned round to the street end and gave a clenched fist salute. I'm sure the roar would have been just as loud had it been a more important goal,he was that popular. Definitely my all time Everton hero! The Latch suffered goals ratio in a few seasons by the team dipping in the Lee era. When we finished fourth but should have won it, he was a goal machine. Yes Carlisle did the bloody double over us, that season. Everton God love us.
Mine too. Well him and Davey Thomas.Ooohhhh him and Asa Hartford were my first heart throbs
Should have mentioned,it was his 100th goal in the first division for Everton that night,he got 138 in all competitions. One of his last acts in the royal blue jersey was when he banged in a 10 minute hat trick against Crystal Palace,I'll always remember being at that game. Sadly he got injured not long after that and never played for us again.Always remember being at Goodison the night he scored his 100th Everton goal,it was against Stoke and me and my dad had won a competition for a couple of tickets in the "VIP" area of the main stand, right behind the directors box,I was only 10 at the time, but I always remember the padded seats and an elderly uniformed commissionaire showing us to our seats! Think that was under Bingham mate. Might be wrong like. The Latch suffered goals ratio in a few seasons by the team dipping in the Lee era. When we finished fourth but should have won it, he was a goal machine. Yes Carlisle did the bloody double over us, that season. Everton God love us.
