Bolasie

The reality is that even if we think he can 'come on and do a job', our model needs us to sell some players that are on the fringe and taking large salaries. If an acceptable offer comes in for him, I imagine he will go.

Unfortunately we can't pick and choose who acceptable offers will come in for. So if we don't get one for Bolasie...he can 'come on and do a job.

The miss will get the headlines, which was a poor miss but it can happen. I'd be more disappointed he stays sitting on the ground and clears it off the line for what would have been a very tidy finish from Ellis Simms (and a goal he could have done with).

Tha being said, there was a moment in the 2nd half, where he got the ball, and powered past a couple of defenders. It was closer to the "Bolasie of old" we had first seen. That made me optimistic. I'm sure he will leave, but if he gets the power back in his running, and can power past people like he did, it gives us something a little different.

I think thats a good way of looking at it. I liked what I saw for bits of yesterday and he looks sharper and stronger.

However he's probably not worth his wages and if an offer comes in we can let him go. I think there's a lot in the squad like that. We have moved on a lot of the absolute dross, and we are now at a point where we have players with certain redeemable qualities. I think we are at the point with him and Walcott that we will accept the first offer that comes in.

You say "the Bolasie of old" as if he was something other than a bottom-half-PL-plodder

You really hate the guy but I feel abit sorry for him tbh. Just wants to do well and i can’t fault his attitude.
He’s a phoney, that’s why. He knows his career is pretty much done so he’s gone on some sort of charm offensive.

He was tweeting laughing emojis when we were losing not long ago.

He needs booting out of the club.

I’d say he’s definitely better on the right than left.
On the left, he needs to cut in, so you get those frustrating stepovers.
On the right he’s more direct.
When he went past their LB & put that cross in yesterday, it reminded me of his debut at WBA. He terrorised them that day & stood up a couple of pinpoint crosses that should have been buried (Barkley one, can’t remember the other).

I didn’t want us to pay anymore than half what we paid for him, but that’s not the player’s fault.
He was good up to that bad injury. I can remember fans singing his name. Anyone claiming otherwise are just rewriting history to fit their own bitter agenda.

I think you’re reading too much into the social media stuff. Granted he hasn’t hit the heights but to take it all so personally - i just don’t really think he deserves all this hate.

It’s really pathetic & sad. I’d say it comes from the same place as these “woke” zealots with their “no platform” & “cancel culture”.

Sad individuals leading sad lives.
