Boss photos you've taken

My first calendar design will soon be available in various outlets, not least on Amazon.

It depicts 2 of my favourite subjects - ladybirds and bees.

The calendar has it's own ISBN number and will be searchable on-line once it goes public.

It will be in both A3 and A4 format, but here's a quick preview of what it contains...

Paul.

Have you got those [Poor language removed] Harlequin ladybirds in there Paul?

Coming over here, eating our aphids..................

Yeah - the buggers are everywhere - but they do eat a lot of aphids, but sadly, our native LB's suffer because of them too.

Paul.

I haven't seen loads of ladybirds this year, but of those I've seen, none have been Harlequins. When I lived in centre of a town, I saw loads of 'em but since I moved out to the sticks, I can't recall seeing any. Perhaps there are more parasitic wasps here or some other predator to which they are more vulnerable than our native species.

The North West as whole has been poor weather-wise this year - and there have been far fewer insects than last summer. The harlequins don't mind either way, but our native ones are only active at certain temperatures, or they just hide away.

The wasps are still feeding on fallen apples...

This is one of them, I got pretty close in with the 70D with Venus 60mm lens @ ISO 200 and 1/200sec, used the ringflash as the apple is below the tree in the shadows.

Paul.

They actually get very drunk eating apples, especially rotting ones, some lose the ability to fly for a while
