Boss photos you've taken

Cheers Rob.

This section of the Lancaster Canal runs parallel to Tom Benson Way (the bypass around the outskirts of Preston) close to the UCLAN Sports Arena (at 53.7765° N, 2.7590° W).

Pleasant walk when the weather is nice.
That's just down the road and I've never seen that before. Driven down TBW loads but never seen that part of the canal. I'll get on my bike and go and find it.

If you go to the roundabout at the Sports Arena there is a gate on there opposite their entrance. It's through the gate to the right. The Ribble Link is there and the sculpture is at Lock 1.

Took this photo of Princes Park Lake, Toxteth, with my phone using one of those panoramic apps that stitch several images together. Looks a bit weird, but I like it.

Me and my lad fish from that very spot.

It`s a beautiful park and it`s a shame as a lot of people pass it by in favour of Sefton Park.

Mind you it used to be dangerous as hell in there after dark years back, I was only able to night fish there as I was good mates with one of the local L8 lads who was one of the top fisherman on there.

I remember many years ago, you'd have the 'Parks Police' driving through there (and other Parks) in their small vans. They must have been disbanded or something because they just seem to disappear. Like you said though, it is a shame that a lot of people opt for Sefton Park instead. In my opinion, Princes Park is a little gem.

The play area in there for the kids is one of the best in the city too.

I recall (again many years back) there were a few swings, a rocking horse, sandpit, and a roundabout, all mostly occupied by 'kids' around the age of 16 to 20 (ish) drinking, smoking, and intimidating anyone who tried to get near with their children. Hopefully, it's nothing like that these days. I'm painting a bit of a bleak picture of the past; I'm sure it wasn't as bad as that really.

The play area now is massive and very well used. They’ve obviously spent a lot of money on it.

It’s just a shame that they let the old Georgian boathouse fall down, as apparently it was the only one in the country still left.

It's nice that money was made available for improvements, especially for an improved childrens' play area. Getting them away from their electronic gadgets etc. and into the fresh air to play can only be a good thing. I noticed a few years back there was a 'Woodhenge' type of structure on the grass not too far past the gates. Not sure what that was about but it looked good... so I took a photo.

I was disappointed that the Boathouse was all but gone. Didn't realise it was the only left in the Country.
