Back to normal guys and gals

These are actually both around about 1mm to 1.5mm in size - so that's small in every sense!

I have shown 2 of each image - the first of each is uncropped, and then one where I have cropped in a bit to see them a little more clearly.

Elongtate bodied springtail: (possibly Isotomurus sp. though I am unsure)...

Globular springtail: (possibly Dicyrtomina ornata?)

Both were very hard to get to - on top of the rain-sodden recycling bin, and I could barely even see them with the naked eye unless they moved!

Pied Wagtail, first one is seen directly from behind, looks like some kind of face I thought.
Hard to catch these little fellas, they never sit still, often seen running across the ground looking for food.

Hike yesterday...had to see what the burn did last summer. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

Starts off fine, of course, as this is at the trailhead...

@LinekersLegs will know all about scenes like this...

Almost back to the trailhead (bottom right)...not a lot of photos taken for a 10-mile hike, for obvious reasons. That area won't be recovered in my lifetime, that's for sure, considering how long it takes for Saguaro's to mature.

Know that for areas like ours fire is a natural part of the the circle of life but it can be really hard to see the newly burnt out areas can’t it?

If it's started by lightning (which this one actually was), fair enough...something like 80% of our fires last year were of human origin though.
