Boxing

I won my second and last fight on March the 7th at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool (first one further back in this thread). I am now officially retired and only had this one as I lost my first white collar match. if anyone is thinking of doing it, it's a massive buzz and I would recommend it to anybody.
Nice one mate, no one can ever take that away from you, it takes bottle to just walk in a boxing gym, to fight in front of a crowd takes even more. One of my old coaches puts on white collar shows round merseyside, their good fun

Just watching Ringside, very impressed by James DeGale talking about other fighters. Honest, respectful and comes across well.
I think he is far from the bulb he made himself look in the Groves affair, he will be given the chance to flourish a bit now under hearns, he just looked so down the entire time last year talking about fighting in shopping centers, worth remembering despite rivalry with groves, he called the groves froch fight far better than most did

yeah I watched it, a brave attempt at doing something special, he just fell short, you could see the quality was there from lomo, but against an experienced heavy tough pro, he just didn't quite have the smarts, he will come again, he's too talented not to. I think the bodies have been far too lenient on weight for far too long, Rocky fielding was a joke the other night, and now is in line for a title shot, its just wrong.

I think its a very deliberate change of tack from Bradley, a couple of years ago he couldn't sell life jackets on the titanic, the he tried to be too entertianing against prov, and there was plenty of showboating against JMM, he makes big dough against pacman, and if he comes through it he wants to be heard for the money fight against floyd

Even if Bradley wins he will get nowhere near Mayweather having just signed with top rank for another 2 years.

Such a shame on the sport that you have practically two separate stables of fighters that cant meet, reminds of the darts and the PDC and BDO.

Well this was what i was thinking, he actually offers a degree of insight whilst being fairly even handed. Maybe a case of him having his ego fairly seriously bruised and its made him a good pundit. Hope it shapes his fighting career positively as well.

Missed the fight (actually wasn't going to pay $60 to see a rematch of a fight that wasn't all that good to begin with) apparently it was one sided and wasn't much of a fight after the 4th-5th round either.

Manny and Mayweather aren't old enough to fight yet. Trust me the fight will be made; it will be both fighters last fight and they will be totally over the hill when it happens.

Manny is back to No2-3 P4P I guess (Mayweather, Ward). I know he was a sparring partner and you have the same trainers but plz fight Prodinkov (cant spell) Manny. He's really the only one left that can make a good fight with you outside of Mayweather and Marquez. Alvarado-Manny will be 12 round of Manny pummeling MA. Please don't give Rafoid Marquez another big payday.

As for Bradley, he'll probably get a PPV with Prodinkov next. When is dependent on what Manny decides to do.

I bet Khan is next for Mayweather. Maybe Broner but Broner could possibly make it a close fight because both guys have the same style which could lead to low output close rounds.

Strange tactics from bradley last night, looks like he either wanted or needed a knockout, tremendous pace set bt by pacqiou though, hes right back in the mix now

I just saw the fight. He was doing OK up until the 5th then just packed it in and took the paycheck. Maybe he was saving his brain from the punishment he's going to take in Bradley-Provodnikov II and Bradley-Provodnikov III. Which is just what we all want anyway.

Glad someone else thought it was bizarre as well, I think the talk of pacman being back to his best is a little over the top, he's missing that little bit extra he had at his peak, and still doesn't close his oppenent down probably when he starts circling to the right, fingers crossed he sacks Arum off when his contract is up

I don't think he ever lost that much. He lost some power but has made up for it with slicker boxing. Rios was the real deal. He has hurt everyone he fought and he didn't even touch Manny.

Marquez was always a bad matchup. The after picture of Marquez was a real bad matchup

Some great fights coming up. Not really interested in Mayweather v Madaina, wish Floyd would stop picking guys that won't trouble him, but sure he's more interested in keeping his 0. Still think Pac looks a shadow of his former self, and although he's still a great fighter, I don't think he poses a significant threat to Floyd as he once did. Would still love to see them fight though!

Can't wait for Froch v Groves and Fury v Chisora. Two really interesting rematches that will live up to the hype IMO. On the topic of Dereck Chisora, does anyone else think that he looks like a fat Daniel Sturridge?

Thought Manny was very impressive last Saturday, it was a brilliant opening few rounds and after round 5 I was leaning towards the younger man winning but thought Manny made great adjustments and pretty much won every round on the way in.

Don't think Bradley changed his tactics all night,it was clear early in the fight that he wanted to ko Pacquiao and besides the shot that landed in the 4th he never really looked like doing it.

Its far from Pacquiao of old, don't think the power is what it was, and the punch resistance I think isn't what it was, I don't that shot in the 4th would have given a peak Pacquiao as much trouble.

He boxed and pressured Bradley very smartly after the middle rounds, skills which i'v always felt Manny has been far underrated on, a very creditable win against a younger guy still very much in hi prime, credit to Bradley too, a decent fighter who can definitely come again.

Mayweather isn't the most telegenic fighter, the 0 is what gives him all the big money fights. With a loss or 2 he's Pernell Whitaker, fighting on HBO and pleading guys he's better than to pick him for PPVs. Yes he could make 100+M against Pac-Man but if he would have lost say 3 years ago he's sure as hell not making 40M-60M for peppering Miadana. Plus in the end he will still make the 100-150M against Manny when both are over the hill.

Spot on assesment IMO. He calls himself money for a reason. Once he's beat, even once, the moneys gone. I don't enjoy watching him but usually do.
