Boxing

@widnesblue it was before my time too but like yourself I’ve watched pretty much seen every fight and documentary on that era on the 4 kings . boxing is a shadow of what it used to be .
Totally agree now with all the different promoters, different networks and egos involved, totally ruined it. It doesn’t seem to be getting any better either.

What’s been refreshing is Canelo lately, what he’s doing with signing with different networks and promoters on a fight to fight basis, should be the way forward. Hopefully this is the way forward. Fighters shouldn’t really need promoters in this day and age with the power and reach of Social media.

Canelo is spot on . He says everyone wants to fight him for the payday but aren’t willing to fight each other in between .

there are some great divisions but the lack of willingness to fight each other is shocking ,

Totally agree. The fact that in majority of the divisions, each champion are promoted by different promoters and have to fight on different networks. The American way as absolutely destroyed boxing. Pure greed.

I remember been in Germany few years back and going a Wladimer Klitschko fight at the imtech arena (hamburgs ground) and the was about 60/70k in attendance, it was ridiculous. Remember coming home and the Americans were saying how boxing was dead. Hearn and Joshua got a buzz goi g again, Americans jumped on it and started to ruin it with their greed again.

That’s spot on , look at Tank , all they are doing with him is cherry picking opponents and he’s now a PPV ’star’

it’s a joke and will remain so while everything is fractured the way it is.

Hopefully a lot of fighters take Canelo’s plan and move forward that way. You’ve got a monster fight in Crawford vs Spence that won’t ever get made. Sadly should be a massive fight and neither are big enough stars for the money they want. Crazy.

One of the weirdest knockouts ever. Never ever seen that happen before. Supposedly he’s talking backstage which is good. Belter of a fight and he was ahead by a good margin until that.

This ringside video shows how powerful the right hook was - couldn’t see it properly from the TV angles. Hopefully he’s OK.

Easily best fight in years.
