Didn’t watch the fight nor bother entertaining it but the outrage has been hilarious. Boxing fans and casual fans, even everyone who’s had an opinion on has been wound up by Jake Paul. Absolute hats off to the lad, made millions and wound people up into buying the ppv to see him get beat. He might be a bulb but he’s at least bringing eyes to the sport and bringing in more revenue where fights will actually get made. Good on him, and for having the balls and courage to fight the likes of Anderson Silva and the likes.

It’s actually more embarrassing for the sport that a professional boxer whose got a back ground and had amateur fights is going the distance with someone whose only been training few years and having his first proper boxing contest.

Fury was petrified of catching one of those wild overhand rights and so never really engaged Paul at any stage of the fight. Given all the talk that had gone before, staying on the outside and outboxing him was the smart play. Can’t imagine the carnage if he’d let that Beaker off The Muppets looking freak spark him out.

Interesting to see what he does next, though. If he wants a world title like he says (never gonna happen, but still…) then the road to that is far less glamorous and lucrative than last night. Or he could just tickle a few more influencers and retire in a few years without a blemish on his handsome mush.

Despite wanting to see a Froch v Paul exhibition match I can't help but think it would be a danger to Jake Pauls health. Froch was an absolute beast at finishing people off. Looks like a rematch is on the cards which is a bit silly for Fury to take up if he has just been placed on the Top40 of the World Cruiserweight league. He should focus on that.

I don't get the feeling Fury is that serious about boxing and he will probably make a lot more money in the rematch alone than he would in a traditional boxing career given his seeming level.

Correct he probably made more money from that one fight than he would do out of his career in the professional boxing ranks as I don’t see him becoming a world title fighter.

Can’t help but feel smith has been mismanaged. Should have been a superstar - especially after his win against groves but just been a bit stop/start for him since then.

They often struggle to fill the arena even with a decent card. There's hardly any scousers on the bill and the new main event isn't going to excite anyone. Will be very low attendance. There hasn't been many good cards in Liverpool for a while. 5-10 years ago there was better cards on a regular basis.

My lad has paid 80 quid for a ticket to watch him I don't think a refund is possible might be wrong like.. doesn't seem right to me charging that now

They quite regularly do that for the boxing, Frank Warren used to be terrible for it and wouldn't give refunds. If the main event is cancelled they should do refunds. DAZN just started that annual membership and now a few of the UK fights have been cancelled already.
