Boxing

People who are thinking that way, are obviously massive Josh Taylor fans. Nobody and I mean nobody can say it’s a robbery, the first fight was an absolute robbery, this one had a clear winner and the winner won it by atleast 3 clear rounds. The two rounds that I scored a draw could have went either way, if the judges scored the ones I drew a draw to Catterall then the 117-111 is right. The difference is, different fan bases from different countries will score it different, it needs to be all under one banner boxing cos every week, sick of hearing about score cards.

The problem is, we score with our eyes or ears and not head or heart, some people who have favourite fighters do score with there heart instead of head and eyes, it’s all very confusing haha. Last week, Usyk vs Fury, the right man got the decision, winning it by at least two rounds, this week the right fighter got the decision winning it by 3 rounds. But we still hear about the cards, promoters do what promoters do and make sure there fighter who lost, is still sellable by saying his fighter won when he clearly didn’t.

Paul Smith vs Abraham one was very close, was always gonna go to Abraham in Germany. Glad he got bounced in the rematch though. Seen smith at JLA when he was going to Germany for it, he was rushing due to been late for his fight. Wished him luck and he replied with “yeah but you ain’t having a picture” grown man, as if I’d ask for a picture with another man cos he’s a professional sportsmen, absolute melt.
Should have asked him for a kiss instead.

Didn’t wanna be tickled by his beard.
Saucy!

As for Catterall, 3 rounds was fair, could have been 4 without complaint. 117-111 was a bit to far. Taylor was rocked and rocked properly and just survived. It didn't help he kept ducking into the same left hand over the top. One should have been lesson enough, at twenty one it was clear he didn't have a clue how to avoid it. Catterall carries a couple of pounds more into the rematch I reckon he gets the knockdown.

Was this the third weekend (or third Saturday in about 4 weeks) where Saturday has delivered in the main event? (with some bonus drama in the undercards?).

Two wrongs this time make a right
In a strange way the wide cards probably help Taylor, most had catterall winning a quite close fight. If that would have been how the judges had it everyone would be in agreement, the narrative will be changed now though after them cards and over time we will start to hear how Taylor was robbed. I remember similar happening when Paul smith fought Abraham. Smith ended up getting a rematch and payday our of a fight he clearly lost just because the judges cards were too wide.

I had catteeralllllll(as joe mcnally kept calling him) as the winner by two. The right man definitely won, no matter how wrong the score cards were. He’s beat him twice now in my eyes and as good as lasts nights fight was, the first one was poor so I don’t want to see the trilogy, no matter how much they try and sell us on it.

Paul smith seems to have achieved the least and had the biggest opinion of himself out of all the Smith brothers, also can’t stand anyone having an opinion on boxing who has never fought at top level but feels free to put the world to rights on football matters when he probably never made it past Buckley hill levels. But hypocritical I’d say.

It’s been a good few weeks for boxing and still more to come. But you know sooner or later something big and controversial will happen soon.

Great fight and they match up really well but nobody really needs to see a rematch. Fought twice, Catterall won twice, no need for a third although be great to watch be a hard sell.

He’s a good commentator and knows his stuff clearly when it comes to scoring fights and got a great boxing brain but he certainly thinks to much of his self and his opinion only matters cos he was professional. Like you said, he says to people because he fought, they can’t give them his opinion nor he acknowledges it. But he loves giving his opinion on politics and football, but of a bulb really.

Smith let the contender appearance go to his head

Does anyone know if anywhere in town is showing the whole card on Saturday?

Most places are probably showing the final and then will turn over for Wilder at the end but I would like to see Ball and I can see that overlapping.

I believe Zhang has weighed in 68 lbs heavier than Wilder for tonight. That is nearly 5 stone. 24 hours before hand. hmm.
Wilder weighing in lighter than Usyk who is considered a small heavyweight. Unreal. Can see him going down to that jarg division and fighting Okolie for the WBC belt. Imagine Wilder been a two weight world champion, be insane.

Think is on Ball first might get it in before kickoff.
Think I will watch the boxing.
Well if they keep it moving along.
Hope Ball batters the yank, to cocky him.

Hope Big Bang really goes for it in the first few rounds cause of the weight advantage and his horrendous gas tank. May as well just go nuts and swang and bang.
