Boxing

golovkin gone head hunting happy here, should be looking for more body shots

i thought that, knocked him down twice in one round with body shots and never really went back there.

fair play, very courageous from murray, but only 1 winner from round 1. golovkin's got undertaker's mania streak in his sights here.

Murray seemed more concerned about the body shots after the knockdown. He was crouching and protecting the body.

Tough nut Murray, fair credit to him, decent stoppage by the ref too, stepped in at exactly the right time, the ring was tiny, didn't help either.

If Cotto wont fight him, GGG has to go up a weight, nothing else really there now for him bar that one.

Couple of my mates went over to watch the smith fight last night and credit where it due , Paul smith and ricky hatton both had photos taken with the lads ( also Ricky hatton joined them for a livener this morning ) ..... Also my mate had a great pic taken of him arm wrestling David Price haha

Tomorrow is the 20th anniversary of 'Sudden Impact' Benn vs McClellan. Spare a thought for a supreme boxer cut down in his prime in some of the saddest circumstances in boxing history. McClellan is very slowly dying, recently undergoing surgery to remove his colon, although he slowly recovered from the brain damage enough to manage to walk with crutches his sight never returned and is almost totally deaf.
In the amateurs he beat Roy Jones Jr, and was talked up in the pro's as a miniature Mike Tyson.

What's sad is arguably the best 2 fights I ever saw as a kid were McClellan-Benn and Kim-Mancini

Totally agree Gerald McClellan was one of the greatest, Boxing is a very dangerous Sport, and in them days the Medical facilities during that period was shambolic to say the least.

There isn't much at super middleweight either. Andre ward who has fought 3 times since Dec 2011 so who knows how good he is. Frosh isn't really in his league. Kovalev is too big (but god I would love to see that). Not sure if Pascal or Bute could make weight and they are both kind of past it now anyway.
