Boxing

Just seen the Khan result, 7-5 on on card, 9-3 on the other, not really the stand out display from Khan given an ageing Pacquiao beat him round the ring for 12 rounds with 6 knockdowns.

I had the Khan fight a bit closer than the judges. I think that fight proves he's not a top level operator!

He'll never unify a division imo..

I doubt Khan will ever make to the very top, he's a decent enough boxer but couldn't see him beating those at the very top. I don't think he'll even reach the heights what Hatton reached who was very good but again was beaten easily by those at the top of their game but good luck to him.

Not being able to stop Algeri in front of less than 8,000 people has probably cost him getting any superfight now.

I think your right judging on boxing ability but it wouldn't surprise me if they think they can sell the fight and generate enough cash that he could get a top fight, we'll see.

He keeps saying that he's the number one contender for the WBC - but Mayweather has already intimated that he will be giving the belts up prior to his last fight in September.

What Khan has never appreciated is that to be a pay per view draw, you have to essentially bring your core fan base with you (like Hatton and Alvarez did). Khan was booed roundly the last time he fought in Britain.

Yeh, he's not popular really. I think if he had a bigger fan base he'd prob get a big fight Regardless of his boxing merits.

Any live boxing on t v tonight, apart from PPv ?

Pretty sure there's the Burkinshaw fight on SpikeTv (if you get that!).

Really had to convince myself to shell out for tonight's big ppv, but so far so good. First fight was a cracker & so far the Cardle v Evans British title fight looking good too.

Fridge stocked with beer & got a few mates coming round. Should be a good night.
