Boxing

Decent scrap tonight for Fury entertainment wise, got away with a lot of mistakes due to the sheer size advantage, vladamir would destroy him though

I thought the same, he has been knocked down twice now by two cruiserweights, but to be honest he was acting the goat last night and that's why he got put on his arse. I have to admit I like Tyson Fury and would like to see him do well but if that was an overhand right from David Haye he wouldn't of been getting up.

I agree with both of you , Fury will sell tickets because he'll come across as 'rocky' with getting up after being knocked down .fury is untidy but the improvement in his physique is dramatic and although it's hard to believe his technique has improved because he unlike price has tested himself . I do think fury missed Peter fury in his corner last night (visa issues because of his criminal record ) and his head seemed everywhere.

As unappealing as it is fury needs to use his height and size even more and lean down (as he did probably not enough in all honesty ) and tire them out and stop reverting to style and leaving himself open. Fury isn't anywhere near top level but once the brothers retire he'll probably be in the shake up

He was awful last night. Hasn't got a clue how to use his jab and tried boxing on the inside for most of that fight. He's a bum. Still got more respect for him than Price who's fought no one and will still be fighting no marks for another two years.

Said it for ages Fury vs Price is a 50/50.

Fury is little more that a pikey bare knuckle fighter with gloves on. He'll be sat on his arse by the first true quality opponent he gets in the ring with. Much ado about nothing.

At this stage, not that he seems interested, though enough build up with Fury could change that, I think Haye beats both of them. Like Sheeds says once he started using his size it was just a matter of time, which was a shame for Cunningham, who boxed quite nicely early on, and showed that someone with a decent skill set and some accuracy and patience will give Fury problems, think Vlad, but with the size to go with it. When Wilder knocks out Harrison, hopefully he will come into the mix, the standard wont be great, but at least it might be interesting.

Also really frustrating to see Cleverly stuck in same rut making the same mistakes against very limited opposition, for someone who prides himself on his education, I cant believe he doesn't realise he needs to leave the sinking Warren ship, and his old fella and join a proper professional gym, and actually learn to box to his advantages, because he has plenty

He's going to have shed that defense 1st style quickly. First of all it doesn't really sell tickets. Plus if you look at the Donaire-Ridenoux scorecards it was a close match, even though he dominated. Someday he's going to fight a busy-body and even if said dude can't hit Ridenoux much, Ridenoux will lose by just getting outworked. Actually Doniare who was only throwing around 25 punches a round, may have won the fight if he just threw 40-60 punches a round.

I agree with the sentiment Rook, in terms of selling tickets etc, but do you not think that Doniare's workrate looked poor on the stats, because he was being countered so effectively, and with decent power aswell.

Was saying the same thing to my mate last night, David Haye likes that overhand right as well, imagine the pre fight build up with them two whoppers!

That haye overhand right point (made above by someone else as well ) is a great one as he does absolutely love that dig .

Fury is trying to generate a 'buzz ' but he's a long was behing haye who is incredible at it , as the figures for the PPV for his fights (particularly valuev when he outmanoeuvred everyone ) .

Be interesting to see who both of them fight next .

Is Haye still without an opponent?

It would be a very long way from the divisions glory days, but much like with Haye and Chisora, it would be good fun, and when the real top class quality isn't there in a division that is the next best thing, I'd watch it anyway.

Like you say mate Haye knows what he is doing, he came back from setanta's collapse very well, and even after everyone said he let them down against Vlad, his fight against Chisora did really good business

Good win for Canelo last night, haven't seen it just read about, definitely he's toughest test so far, fairly wide margins on the scorecards too.

He was getting popped on the counter and it defo kept him from throwing, however if he upped his work rate he would have gotten some good shots in. Donaire doesn't need to connect all that much to get a KO/knockdown either. The fight would have been exciting too because it would have ended in a KO either way. Ridenoux can have exciting fights as well staying in that style, he just can't be matched up with counterpunchers.

Donaire came into the fight a bit cocky and out of shape and I think if they fought again it would be a much closer fight. Donaire's last 4 opponents didn't do him no favors either. Arce was washed up and Donaire KO'd him even with a mangled hand, Nishimonga just took the paycheck and covered up, the 6 foot tall 125lb South African was a just a weird freak of nature (I enjoyed that fight though, it was like watching a Punch-Out character come to life, he should be on TV more) and the other guy who I forget that he also fought in 2012 was also totally outclassed.

Good fight on tonight.

Local Lad Martin Murray fighting an argentine in Velez Sarsfields ground. Expecting 50,000 for it.

He's 12/1 but he can hit hard and the fella he's fighting is 38.
