His house was raided and loaded gun which is believed to be legally owned was found.

An England football player has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of having sex with a 14-year-old girl, following a police raid on his mansion.

Three police cars arrived at his £1.85m property at around 9:15am this morning.

A neighbour has been quoted by The Sun as saying: "You could tell they were police officers, they were all dressed in black.

"I haven’t seen the player all day. I just assumed there had been a burglary."

The BBC say Durham Police have confirmed a 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a girl aged under 16.

The player has appeared for England and plays for a Premier League club according to The Sun.
