only thing i dont get is the whole 16 years of age when the media is concerned.
for example a teacher has sex with a 15 year old, they are trwon in jail, fair enough
a grown up has sex with a 16 year old and it is consentual so therefore fine
A teacher has sex with someone of the legal age and they are painted as a paedophile.
I get the whole trust thing with them being a teacher but if they are of a legal age why should that matter?

Pretty sure it is actually a specific offence.
Or at least a rule that teachers have imposed on them by their employment contract or something.

Im just wondering about why the standing is so much different in the eyes of the general public/media.
As i said i get the trust being broken. I also dont get why they grass said teacher up afterwards for no gain from it as if one of my younger female teachers came on to me at 16 id have kept my mouth shut.

Yeah, but the minute you tell your mates, couple of them tell someone... Not hard to see how it quite quickly makes its way to parents

True, it creates a division then between the 'victim' and the person who prosecutes so to speak. Media have us believe the 'victim' is the one who does it but perhaps it is parents instead?
