It's sad and, as a dog lover with two pooches here, it breaks my heart to see any dog treated so horribly.
But at the same time, these are mostly farmers who raise the dogs for meat, in many cases they are in terrible poverty and selling the dogs at places like Yulin are their only income.
The slaughter practices are still barbaric, horrific and you'd hope in future they will find a way to minimise that sort of suffering and improve the care before hand but we've had issues with that in our own country with farms housing and slaughtering Cows, Sheep and Pigs in awful ways too - which is no different in the grand scheme of things.
