Galloway isn't the answer for Baines replacement. The summer needs to be spent looking for long term covers for our aging back line. Holgate looks a class act and is a real find. Need 2 full backs (particularly left back as I think Baines best days are behind him now)

Shame we lost out on Sam Byrom - is he even playing at WHU? I also think this Charlie Taylor from Leeds is someone to keep an eye on. Decent young left back.

He's a CB anyway so was never Baines' replacement.

Andrew Robertson of Hull has always impressed me. He'd certainly benefit from a step up in class. I gather LFC are interested in him.

Find it amazing some already think Holgate is already miles better than him.. he started half of every game last season in a terrible defence and out of position , only looking uncomfortable against the likes of man city.

Byram is injured IIRC.

Taylor is decent and we have had him tracked.

If byram can't get into that team I'm glad we didn't get him tbh. No idea who's keeping him out but they must be rubbish too

Been saying for ages he is a step up from Baines. He's not as good as Bertrand though, and I'd hope we could bring him in given his connection with Koeman.

He went out on loan because we've got Baines and Oviedo, and at the time, Koeman patently saw those two as the number one and two left backs.

...i think that's right. Unfortunately being behind Oviedo in the queue suggests RK isn't keen. I reckon LB is a position the club look to strengthen in the summer although it's not a priority at the moment. I like Galloway but I fear his game time at Everton might be limited at best.

Given that Oviedo, much as I love him for what he did in Roberto's first season isn't the best at footy after that leg break, it's hardly a massive endorsement of Galloway's qualities if he's seen as third choice behind Bry.

However, RK would have seen very little of him other than pre-season training and would surely have been concentrating on Baines and Oviedo as the two likely leading candidates for LB.

Galloway will, I think, overtake Oviedo in the pecking order by the start of next season, and that's assuming Oviedo is still here... possibly one of those on the January trading list ?

Maybe we are pretty lucky with young talent these days just don't want to be wasteful. Holdall is clearly the better ball player
