A penalty was the right call according to the definition of the rules. In this case var was right, but the rules about tripping or bringing down a player accidentally being a penalty may not be right..

Just back on the coach. Already been out 12 hours. Not a critical poster but Marco got it so wrong second half. After 15m we bossed the game. Why would you take off both your wide men and pave and add Delph but most importantly why put Gylfi left wing and Rich right? Game was cost by one person the manager. Neither helped track back we went on the back foot and invited pressure. We were playing well until the suns. I get DCL scored but the whole set up was wrong with the changes
As for VAR it just doesn’t work

We also scored after he made those changes. I think the biggest problem is we looked unsure of our shape with three in midfield and that caused big problems post penalty as we also had lost our heads with the ball.

Sod the rules. According to the rules grabbing or holding players is a foul yet it happens on every single corner. The way the game is refereed in practice that isn't a foul.

Richarlison was by far our best player that wasn't in the back four. I'm not sure what you're on about.

...ridiculous, just ridiculous. The superior team lost, when that happens you really do have to ask why.

A substitution worked with DCL but I thought the Delph change was odd. Tactically, we should be able to see games out, that’s the responsibility of the manager and coaches. It was a dreadful VAR decision, but I won’t mind if all similar contact is given as a penalty.

Regardless, the best team lost and there has to be reasons for that. I think it’s a lack of tactics and organisation. I thought Sidebe played well but he was caught upfield for the winner. With minutes to go, the team should automatically fill in if a full back goes upfield. It’s basics.
