I see your point, but even the real moyes put in some 'dynamic' players when he could afford it, and tried to attack - Mirallas, Pienaar, Arteta - for instance, and we got lucky with Cahill in his prime, but the issue is also shape and style - if he wants dour, solid players, he still needs a shape to his formation, and he doesn't seem to be getting the best out of them. I think he's got a major identity crisis. He doesn't know if he wants to be like Cruyff and the Dutch - Barcelona style of the 70s - 90s, or the new-age Pep-style football, or the Mourinho approach, or the Klopp approach, and he hasnt got a clue how to progress, while also feeling like Everton is his last chance to have success as a stepping stone to Arsenal, Barca or the Munich type jobs that he craves

I don't mean the personnel as such. He signed and plays the likes of Sigurdsson and Rooney, who have the ability to offer brilliance but at their core they are also players who will carry a ball a bit and play simple passes and chase back/cover space. Moyes also had similar players (the ones you mention) and demanded the same.

Sometimes though you have to unlock defences through the unexpected and you do that by having players that aren't perhaps the total all-round package. Sure, Lookman won't impact every minute of every game, but he's a wide player; you should accommodate that luxury because he can turn a game. What we have instead is everyone running into one another because they're coming central and tracking back deep to be involved because that's what the manager wants to see.

I don't see many differences between this Koeman bad patch and a typical Moyes bad patch. I don't think I'd see much difference in their good patches in the future either. Thing is, I'm not defending Koeman when comparing him to Moyes - quite the opposite. It's simply not a good enough approach for what should be our ambitions.

I'd like for someone to post a radio stream link(mobile) once it starts. I'm picking olives, surely the game can't be more boring than that.
If it's like any of our recent performances, I might just sort through the odd sock draw to find something else to do that is more entertaining:mad:
