Can’t be arsed finding a clip… but that horrible little rat Cher Lloyd did a fantastic rendition of Shakespeare sister’s Stay… credit where it’s due … but think it was only on X factor maybe

I remember when the original was released.

I was off school with raging tonsillitis so every time I hear any rendition it takes me back.

I’m totally opposed to this in music, speaking as a gigging musician myself.

It’s one thing using it to isolate tracks, but to “create” something I find it creepy. Uncanny valley etc.

I mean, you’ve got people doing it with John Lennon, Freddie Mercury and others.

Not for me.

As the years pass A.I tech is only going to mature and we will head further into uncanny valley. There is also the risk particularly in terms of voice cloning , of scams being more sophisticated and the less tech savvy being more vulnerable to it.

I’ve heard from people I know in the film and games industry that A.I is already advancing, internally testing spot on replicas of the likes of Orson Welles and Alec Guiness. whilst in games level design and certain voice characters are made by A.I rather than programmers/actors. Lot of potential for job losses.
