Didn't Nasri break his leg the other year and was out for about 3 months? All hope is not completely lost for him making the World Cup, but I doubt we'll see him in an Everton shirt again this season

So many echoing what I was feeling about getting emotional - this is the martinez effect - we feel more affinity and closeness with our team than in previous years because that is the attitude fostered throughout the club now.very proud

Found it hard to concentrate on the game afterwards, especially after seeing the player's reactions. Poor [Poor language removed], but he doesn't seem the type to let something like this beat him.

Kinell, football isn't fair.

He's a fighter, we'll see him back soon enough for him to be on the pitch when we lift the premier league trophy. Wish him the speediest of recoveries and that he gets to pick up some medals at the end of the season after sitting on his arse for a few months

Stones went to him first and held his hand and comforted him throughout the whole thing.

Future captain indeed, brilliant both him and Jags.

Hope he's back before the end of the season and is able to go to the World Cup.

And this!

Properly feel for him! Wishing him a swift recovery

same, i raised a bit of a smile for gueye's goal because i like the lid, but it was all very sombre.

we're not a football club at Everton FC, we're a family and it did seem like it was a family member getting really injured. when i've seen bad leg breaks before i've always thought a bit of sorrow, but just knew it was part of the game. Seeing an evertonian getting such an injury was horrible, especially martinez' interview after.

Couldn't see him making the WC but the news seems to be slightly less grim than earlier when for a minute you were wondering if he would ever play again. Realistically he should be back fighting fit for the start of next season.

I still think the Stevenage guy new what he was doing he just kicked him so hard instead of the ball! so sad it had to happen on a mud bath of a pitch, they were a bit rough and cumbersome in the tackle imo!

Not at all IMO, theres no way the fella meant that, the tackle came from behind, I doubt he even saw his leg until it was too late.

Granted they enjoyed a good tackle, but Barry was throwing himself around a bit, was a good game and credit to Stevenage, their heads dropped a little at 4-0, as you would imagine, but they kept their heads and nothing wrong with any of their tackles, just big lads getting stuck in.

Sorry but that just ruined my entire day.

Didn't give a rat about the result when it was all said and done. Yeah, I guess I'm happy we won but......

Just hoping for a miracle for him and that he somehow gets fit in time for the World Cup but if I'm being honest, I'm hoping he gets fit in time to start preseason training for us next season.
