For that reason I didn't want Barkley playing either.

Well Barkleys a lot younger and has been back for a while now playing pain free, but its the third major knee injury of Kone's career and he's not fully fit and has talked about still being in pain when playing so considering its a hard pitch it, looks like the best thing all considered.

Ugh. What a gash team.

Howard. LOL

Barry. LOL.

Barkley and Naismith has never worked.

The worst thing about this season for me is looking at the team an hour before kick off and knowing it's gash. Martinez is making the same mistakes over and over again.

This, although Barry is sort of understandable today.

In general though, just play McCarthy, Besic and Barkley in midfield plus 2 proper wingers. FFS.

I fully expect the team to be very different against Leicester on Sunday.

In will come Besic, Baines, Lennon, maybe starts for McGeady, Atsu or Kone.

This will take its toll on joints tonight.

Naismith hasn't offered anything for a while now, that's what is frustrating. I think he's a good squad player for us, but needs a rest. He'll bring him off 50/60 minutes I think with Atsu coming off the bench.
He puts in a lot of work defensively. In this game I'm actually surprised he has played so attack minded.

Maybe naismith is cf and lukaku on the wing?
That would make sense however would you not play Besic instead of Barkley if that was the case.

I think Kev is on one wing and Ross on the other with license to go where they want. Naismith will be in the middle.

It hasn't worked in the past when we've had to break teams down but it might work playing on the counter.
