Bullard and Altidore

Why is that, because I don't buy into the Victor Anichebe hate campaign? Jozy Altidore is the American Victor Anichebe, I've always said that. There's nothing special about him.

Victor had a good game yesterday, he needs to do it more often though. There is a dislike towards him from fans though, similar to what Ossie had earlier in the season.

As for Altidore, he had a great game against Arsenal by all accounts, but again he doesn't do it often enough, he looked ordinary against us

I don't like him because I felt he has this attitude that he's amazing, and he swaggers around the pitch like he's won trophies. I hate that, he has no right to have that kind of attitude.

Yeh i agree with that, but yesterday he was villified before he even kicked a ball. When he is up for it Victor, he is difficult to play against, but agree he does think he is too boss when he isnt

Exactly, a little more humility, and a lot less look at me would go down far better for me.

He comes on against Liverpool and all he does is push over a player, and he had nothing to do with the incident.

I also feel he is not aware of players around him when he has the ball, he has low intelligence, and his first touch is not the best.

I don't think the Premier league is a place for him to be honing his skills.

Honestly, the way people go one you'd think every striker in the Premier League could finish like Torres, dribble like Rooney and have the first touch of Berbatov. The standard isn't anywhere near as high as people make out. There are many different levels of Premier League calibre players. If Emile Heskey can make it in the Premier League why can't Victor Anichebe? If Andy Johnson can make it why can't Victor Anichebe?

No ones saying he's going to be the next Drobga, he's clearly not going to be. Can he be a decent to lower level Premier League player? Ofcourse he can. He has enough about him, he's got decent pace and physical strength that few can rival. And despite what people say, his touch and awareness have come on alot, and that's why Moyes feels comfortable using him outwide.

Did you watch the game yesterday? If you did, you'll have seen some of his distribution with his back to goal.

Ok, to be fair I am basing my assessment on more than just 1 game. If you say that he's good enough to be an average player, then I would say why are we keeping him? because decent to lower level is not what I want at Everton.

I suppose me and you are different on what we want from our players, I just want the best and I don't think that is too much to ask.

We have had Donovan putting in some outstanding performances on the right, and now we have Anichebe, kind of like asking for Adidas and getting Gola.

There's such thing as having a squad, it isn't just about the first eleven. What would you rather do, buy squad players or bring them through our academy? I think it's an easy answer, especially for a club with little money to work with.

It's not like he's a regular player in the team week in week out, he only gets a game when there are injuries or in this case, when he's obviously impressing in training. I wanted Donovan to start, but Victor repaid Moyes' faith in him and put in a very good performance.

I'm just a realist, your not, that's the major difference here.

Anichebe was probably playing his best football for Everton before that horrible little so in so Nolan did his knee in. Remember aswell he was out for nearly a year with that

Vic has been impressive in the last two outings, argueably our best player for me.

I couldnt beleive people were rubbishing him of last week and he proved yesterday again hes bang in form.

In fact he looked like he spent the past year in the gym, hes gotten bigger and stronger and its proving impossible to get the ball of him, he looks as if hes after developing a turn of pace while most surpriseingly of all that finish yesterday was sublime given the power in the shot, i always thought physicaly he had something to offer but had major concerns over his finishing - which to be fair was pretty poor, yet he seems to have developed physicaly and learned more about the game seince his absence.

I am a realist, and I don't think Anichebe is good enough for our first eleven. That's not me living in fantasy land mate, that just my opinion, and I respect yours.

It's not gospel you know?

I'll say one thing about this forum, and this is not ****ging it off, or ****ging anyone on here off, but we don't as a group like to criticise the players too much, or if we do, there is an awful amount of posters jumping to their defence.

We can say what we like about NSNO or TW or BlueKipper, but they are Everton fans too, and the opinions on those sites are sometimes well wide of opinions on this site.

I mean, Jo got so much support on this site, yet he was absolutely dreadful, and criticised everywhere else.

It's admirable I admit, but sometimes you feel like you can't say if you think a player is not good enough for the club.

But you have to call as you see it mate - i find it hard to understand after Vic's last two performences people can say hes not got a future.

Similar to Mofro last year - i remember many on this and the sites you mentioned compleatley writeing him of in the main - yet the potential was there massively for anyone to see - i said he would be one of the best midfeilder sin Europe in three years time and people scoffed at it.

Its like Billy this year hes already being written of but the potential to be one of the best midfeild goalsocrers in the league is staring everyone in the face - yet on the site you mentioned above i have seen people want to cut their losses.
