Takes every player a few games to build match fitness, thats the whole point of Pre-season friendlies.....DCL hasn't had that.....criticism of his goals by commentators last weekend was complete BS, likely influenced by agents to drop his price tag for the summer

As someone mentioned last week, Eriksen has came back from the dead quicker than DCL has recovered from this toe injury

Mate, as others have posted elsewhere, we oldies are lucky to remember the great times.

For me 69/70 is my earliest. Then a rubbish and often unlucky period through to 84.

84 to 87 were magic and we were robbed of European Cup in 86 because of that mob. We had probably the best team in Europe at the time and then it broke apart.

We had really worrying times in 94 and 98, but Joe Royle's Dogs of War got us the Cup in 95.

Misery since then, and I was at Wembley in 2009 - I just knew the script would be to sit back after that early goal. We never looked like winning after we scored.

I am really sorry for our younger fans, but please don't take league history as starting with this cash washed PL.

You missed the best bit by a whisker, the period from 66/67 untill 69/70 saw the finest Everton team I have had the privilege to watch, but 68/69 was just absolute magic, how they didn't win the league that season is a mystery. As Good As the 69/70 championship team was, and it was incredible, it was a team that had just passed its peak.
