You missed the best bit by a whisker, the period from 66/67 untill 69/70 saw the finest Everton team I have had the privilege to watch, but 68/69 was just absolute magic, how they didn't win the league that season is a mystery. As Good As the 69/70 championship team was, and it was incredible, it was a team that had just passed its peak.

In fairness, Gordon Lee's teams in 77 to 78 were within a whisker of winning the FACup, League Cup and the League. 22 matches in a row unbeaten.

RIP Gordon - understated but one of my favourite managers.

If we want to stay in the PL then we simply have to beat the teams that are below us in the relegation battle. Don't know how the team with the worst away record in the league is going to win a must win away game against a relegation rival but we simply must find a way to do it no matter how horrible it is. I want to see sweat and blood and players so knackered they can barely stand up although that is likely to be Burnley as they are well used to being in this position whereas we just send out Holgate to say we were never in danger just before he got a red card and we lost yet again.

We have 5 natural defenders and 1 defensive midfielder starting.

If we lose this we (as if we don't already) deserve to kin go down.

Also we have 1 striker and they have 4 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders starting so if they lose then I guess they deserve to go down because of that.

Edit: actually they have 2 strikers.

I think if you said last summer that we’d be going into our biggest game of the season with Kenny, Branthwaite,Mykolenko Holgate, Gordon and Iwobi in the team you’d wonder what the hell had gone on.

Not to mention the fact that it's a relegation six-pointer with Burnley
