Good old Micah

Former England defender Micah Richards believes manager Sean Dyche deserves credit for Everton's recent results and their style of play.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club: "When you watch Everton play. they're actually a joy to watch. When they go from back to front, they're going with pace, rotation and purpose, and that is the key.

"Before, it looked a bit dour at times. Now he's got everyone fit, he's got a consistent team, everyone knows their jobs and they're playing great football.

"When you think of Sean Dyche's Burnley; compact, hitting it to a big man and getting crosses into the box. But [Everton] actually play with rotations, people dropping into pockets and Abdoulaye Doucoure making third-man runs.

"I just think they need more credit for how they're playing - more than just: 'They're good defensively.' With this settled team, they're playing a lot better football than people will give them credit for."

I would imagine Dyche will be talking all week against complacency. This game is going to be extremely tough regardless of Burnley's form (which is showing signs of improvement in fairness). If we don't play well, they will be well up for it and will beat us.

It's a big opportunity to show our progress, but I think it's also an opportunity for Burnley with our suspensions. Our record down there isn't that good. I remember a lot of frustrating games where we dropped points, and can only remember the one really comprehensive win when we got 5 on boxing day.

It's very important in these games not to lose. A draw suits us much more than Burnley, although we should absolutely be going for the 3 points.

Yes, precisely mate.

If we buck that trend we're onto something this season, despite the 10 point deduction.
Its a trend that's been with us for many a manager, if we perform anything like the last 3 games it should be enough to see off Burnley.

They've come to life in the last couple of games. I expect a very tough game.

Braithwaite's absence will offer them a lot of hope.

I think this is the most important game from the last 3-4, this is the must win as we cant allow Burnley to gain points on us. A win against them increases the gap and hopefully deflates them a little too.

As great as the last week has been, we can't afford to be complacent now and lose a 6 pointer to Burnley. We've already dropped too many points to the bottom 3 this season. If after Saturday we've only managed to get 2 points or less on the board, against Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley then something has gone seriously wrong. Keep it rolling Everton.

We win and we are 8 ahead.
Your worst case scenarios posts aren't adding up for you lately
I said if “We lose and they’re 2 points behind us.”

We lose:
And Burnley are 2 points behind us?

Need to go back to school?

Unexpected wins against Newcastle, and slighly less so Chelsea, but beating Forest, was huge - their sphincters will be twitching now. We need to not lose against Burnley now. Again, a win would be massive (8 point gap - theyre not catching that up on us). Would be happy with a draw though, with wins soon for us against Spurs and City :D

You're right, it is negative. With or without Brainthwaite, we should be beating Burnley.

Think it will be tight, and like last time we played them, Burnley will actually play some decent football. But we will have too much for them on the break - there is a reason why they are down there and we should be in the top half!

Last week you put up a post about if we get 1 or 2 points from Newcastle and Chelsea and the teams below us win .
Why always look at things going against us and instead look at things going for us.
Whats the attraction of been negative all the time?

I expect every game we play to be tight and this one is no different. But we need to be beating these sides in the position we're in. If we lose to Burnley, Luton and drew with Shef United, then we deserve to be where we are.

Im not Blue To The Bone. My posts are generally positive, but unlike some, Im not to overly positive with Everton sometimes, they have a bad habbit of breaking your heart :D. Im nearly 60 fella - Ive earned that affliction the hard way.

My post (like so many posts) last week said that we have some hard games in December. We still do. Maybe you have me confused with someone else mate. As I said (last week) we will know more by the end of the month. Thats not necessary negative. It may be hugley positive mate.
