Ha ha. Don’t go the aways anymore but Jesus, I knew hundreds of faces in the in the late 80’s and 90’s by the nene lad / mate just the same! More of a facial recognition man, like yourself.

Funny thing is if I ever bump into them now and then, we go straight into a footy conversation regardless of not speaking for years and absolutely no knowledge of our names. So, Lads is ok- Tell Chico …
yeah lad and mate come in handy and are sound .The day someone says ‘alright bro‘ to me at the aways is the day I retire .
 


As a bad Texan, I used to buzz off getting called lad back in the late 90's/early 2k's...once it happened in a non-ironic way. I knew then that I was now "part of the furniture", so to speak.

It should probably be used more preciously than it is these days but that's just my tuppence, as a Yank.
