Absolutely, and credit to Martinez for that. Still some way to go.

The game on Sunday will be a good benchmark I think. Obviously under Moyes we had developed a bad habit of bottling games against the big sides. Whilst Martinez got the away day hoodoo off our backs with the win at Old Trafford, we still have a way to go before we go into real pressure games with confidence.

We got picked off at Anfield and likewise in the cup match against Arsenal. Hopefully RM and the players will have learned from those games and will give it a good shot on Sunday.

I believe, with another half decent forward, we would have been closer to the top this year.

We really could have made the most of other teams going through a transistion period, had we had any sort of financial backing.

We have never been far off, we have always just been on the edge, in terms of 1 or 2 quality players, its all thats needed, 2-3 quality players and a gameplan that works, it worked for United last year and its working for the vermin this year.

We have quality players, Baines is 1 of the best LBs in the world, yes im biased and im not saying hes THE best, but hes gotta be in the top 3, then we have players like Mirallas, who on his day is amazing, im not saying hes Messi, hes very hit and miss, players like Messi are ALWAYS hit and im certainly not calling him world class, but hes very talented, on his day.

Look at where the sh1te are, they have 2 excellent strikers(vomit) and a gameplan thats working.

We have a very solid back 4, an outstanding player in McCarthy, and a major talent in Ross, then we have a squad full of some very good options, if we can add a top class striker and a number 8, I see no reason why we cant make progress next season.

First xi and manager wise we are not that far away. Put Suarez with lukaku into our team and we win the league this year or go just as close as Liverpool.

As a club we're light years away, so therefore it's a no until kenwright goes.

Bobby seems a better manager than moyes but I think he will reach the same ceiling self imposed by the board
