Awful performance. But you just sort of expect that what happened tonight , was going to happen anyhow. We sort of hope that this team can win a football match. But I think that deep down it’s all about the opposition not turning up. Then we have a chance. When the opposition turn up , and show some fight , that’s it . We get beat.
Now for me most of that shambles tonight , barring the guys who came on far too late, and Patterson and Garner , should not be anywhere near this team this season. That includes Gordon. God help us if it’s those guys that we have to depend on for premier league survival. It won’t work twice. They got lucky last season.
How long now does Lampard get? He’s not been great . Can he get a result now against the Bournemouth first string? This all seems to have a note off enevitibility about it. It all points to another defeat on Saturday. I just don’t know anymore about Lampard . Is he right for the club. As much as I’d like to think so. His record is almost as bad as previous managers that got the boot.
What’s his philosophy? Why doesn’t he use subs sooner. Why does he stick with combinations that don’t work. Why no strikers for half the season. Even one of the young strikers up front might have worked. And why just one striker at a time. How about playing two. Maybe get a partnership going. And why no youngsters tonight?
What is Lampard bringing to the party? Sorry folks , but I’m beginning to think , not very much.
But we go again in a few days. I’ve got everything crossed. It’s as good a plan as any. Because I doubt that Lampard has much of a plan. Two of our better players tonight Garner and Patterson are most likely benched on Saturday. Isn’t that what Lampard does. Maybe play 5-6-0 on Saturday. And still concede. Still get beat.
And don’t worry folks, if we win , I will be the first to say , well done Mr. Lampard. I’d love us to win.
And what happens after the World Cup. Bet we are the only team that return lethargic. Bet we are the only team that takes to about February to get going. The joys of being an Evertonian. Up the Toffees.
Ps. I’ve mellowed a wee bit folks. These sort of defeats used to annoy me. But to be honest , I’m getting used to it. We all are. Frankly folks , it’s getting to the point were I couldn’t give a dam. Well at least until the weekend.
And not much point suggesting who should play at the weekend. Nothing seems to be working. Ah well , it’s back to praying. Rant over.
