Embargo from Dom King – take it how you want

Carlo Ancelotti is stalling on Everton's offer to bring him back to the Premier League as he seeks reassurances about the club's future plans. Farhad Moshiri, Everton's major shareholder, is driving the pursuit of the Italian and has held talks with Ancelotti in London.

The length of the contract Moshiri is prepared to offer is unclear but it is understood the finance would be huge — in excess of £8million a year.

There have been conflicting reports in the last 48 hours about how close Ancelotti is to becoming Marco Silva's successor but he has sought guidance on what plans Everton have for the summer transfer window, as they will not spend heavily in January.

Ancelotti is also aware Everton's squad will need trimming following an expensive recruitment policy that has failed to pay dividends in the past four years.

He wants to know what control he will have, with director of football Marcel Brands currently in charge of transfers. Everton have spoken to a number of candidates since Silva was sacked two weeks ago.

David Moyes, the former manager, has had face-to-face talks with Moshiri.

Everton discussed their former player Mikel Arteta and have also considered Ralf Rangnick, while Vitor Pereira chose to stay at Shanghai SIPG.

Everton will now channel their energy into the Carabao Cup tie with Leicester on Wednesday night and interim manager Duncan Ferguson is demanding a bear- pit atmosphere at Goodison Park.

Ferguson said: 'We've not been to many semi-finals in this competition before and we've never won this cup. So we're not looking too far ahead, but we're desperate to get through.'
Bitter Kopite No. 3,146,789

it’s almost like he’s upset about something.

This article is exactly why we need him in as manager to pipe down knobheads like him. How bitter and jealous does he sound? You know the reason why.... because there's attention on Everton.

He was a bellend when he worked for the red rag, he's still a bellend now the bitter Kopite scruffy knobhead

If we were 20 points clear and unbeaten in about 9months would you really care about them over the park?

Can everybody stop claiming they care what we do please.

Considering we have lurkers on here masquerading as Everton fans

Carragher talks about us more than he does Liverpool

Their fans obsess over BMD and Joe Anderson

They may not be jealous but they are definitely bitter towards us. Make no mistake they would rather little old Everton appoint Moyes and stay at GP than appoint Ancelotti and build a ace new ground.

The understanding I had was that Everton is a long term project and Brands' model suits that. Buy young, develop, sell for profit whilst building a winning side. We all knew after the recent mess of Koeman and Walsh we were a 4-5 year project and hopefully this has been reiterated to Ancelotti as I hope he hasn't demanded a big chequebook and wants to overhaul the side.
We don’t know for sure of course but personally I really doubt he’d have taken the position if he was told he was bound to the current squad and would have no opportunity to shape the team to his liking.

It’s not good for stability I guess but I sense a hell of a lot of change among the playing staff again over the next few transfer windows.

Been talking tosh all week about the blues has King. There are way too many other reputable sources saying the opposite of what he is saying to even care what his bee in his bonnet is all about tbh.

Its happening Kingy so best get used to it buddy.

Wow can tell he used to work for the Red Echo.

Pretty much what they were ramming down our throats the other day.

“Another thing to remember is they have historically been at their best when the manager and players have had something to prove”

Mad that comment given it’s the same for every club. Also when have we ever not had a manager who didn’t have something to prove?

Get the feeling as with similar comments on social media, from non Evertonians, mostly kopites that there is a bit of a sour taste coming from their mouth over this potential appointment.

Klipp flopp has signed for another couple years. They strolling to league title on back of euro title and playing in some charity shield world club final. Ur right. They dont give a toss about what's happening here.
They even giving big dunc praise recently.

disgraceful this, who is the right man then? We've tried them all, Silva/Koeman/Martinez, No one expects him to come in and we're suddenly a top 6 team we're hoping his vast experience can guide us along on the right path so we can stop being such a mess of a club, Great article that offers no alternatives yet complains Ancelotti isn't the right man.
