Carlo Ancelotti

Can we sack Brands and let CA work without a DoF?
Reading Ancelottis bio atm, and he clearly states that his job is to coach the team according to the owners wishes.(he is the employer after all)

Also highlights that DoF role is absolutely essential, as managers should focus on managing teams, not meddling with agents and negotiations.

Seems extremely flexible and cooperative
(his own portrayal) and has a very business-like mindset, accepting his role in the hierarchy. Seems like a father-figure who gets the best out of each individual. And ALWAYS protects his players.

Also mentions that his leadership-style often is criticised as weak in tough times, but naturally disagrees with this and highlights people("talent") over strategy. Seems a natural motivator to me, who can handle big egos and build squad harmony under multiple circumstances. So no worries about Oumar and Cuco the.

Leaves me excited and sceptical at the same time...

(bio is called Quiet Leadership, good read so far)

Everton will turn the top floor of the Liver building into a luxurious 3 bedroom penthouse apartment with panoramic views over the city and allow Mrs Ancelotti decorate it to he own personal taste.
The couple will be then allowed live rent free in the penthouse rent free for the duration of Carlos tenure at the club
Either that, or live rent free in RS heads!

I hate that term, but it sprang yo mind.

Don't know what to make of this appointment. When was the last time Ancelotti rebuilt a team? One with a squad as poor as ours? He's also 60, won't be in for the long haul.

Are we hoping he can attract bigger name players? Are we going to give him 500mil to spend over the next few years because that's would it'd take to get us competitive?

Really bizarre appointment.
Our squad is not that bad. Your squad is a better at the mo. Your youngsters are amazing!

Thanks for sharing. Will check that out.

49K followers, bio reads 'expert in transfermarkt' *facepalm*

And someone who worked as a cleaner five months ago at Everton will read it online. Tell his mate who says Carlo is in Italy and Napoli are playing hardball. Who tells his mate, who knows someone who works at Everton, who says he's not really fired by Napoli, and infact their chairman has decided to keep him after all.

It amazes me the amount the negativity associated with the appointment of one of the most decorated managers in world football, JUST because he's linked with Everton. If Arsenal appointed him, and their squad of players is no better, then everybody would be talking about what an amazing appointment it would be. Remember Ferguson wanted Ancelotti at Man Utd as number 1 choice NOT David Moyes. I'm mainly talking about journalists here.

Not idol gossip, just a regurgitation of whats been posted by clickbaiters and media outlets, but with an added topping of extra vomit. And you had goosebumps over it.

Unfortunately I don't have time to read every single post, its impossible the rate the forum is active, so sorry if I offended you by relaying on a message

No it wasn't. Had a couple of horrendous years under him i will admit but it wasn't dire on the whole. It was absolutely dire before him, truly abysmal, but not whilst he was here when you look upon the years on a whole.

I love how some Evertonians forget what it was like being a blue for long periods in the 90's. That was dire mate.

By contrast I recall the 60s to 80s now that was a time.

thing is mate I think we are pretty close signing him but a lot of rumours from wannabe ITKs atm on twitter these days

There is so much going on my head is spinning.

Contract for 4.5 years
Contract said to be 4.5 mill pA or 11.5 millPA
Coming with him are his folks from Naple
Wants control of transfers
Wants Zlatan
Sees Everton as a project
and then -

fueling our suppositions regarding Usmanov, he is in there some where.

Before him, PSG went through a spell of not winning anything for about 15 years. It was under him that PSG started to become the attraction they are today.

Yeah, it could’ve been Ancelotti that skyrocketed PSG back into the elite...... or it could have been the Qatar government who took over PSG a couple of months prior and gave him an unlimited budget.

The concern over his appointment originates from jealous bellends who can't accept lil arl Everton FC are being ambitious and want to have a go.

Do you accept that Ancelotti has never had to conduct a comprehensive re-build during his career, the likes of which would be necessary to get this club into the top 4 in the next 2-3 years, and that he typically delivers success with a level of players he doesn’t have access to here?

Sure, if FM going to start playing Footy Manager on cheat mode and throwing money at it, you’d expect we’ll get those calibre of players and can accelerate our growth which is exciting - but surely it’s reasonable to be at least mildly concerned about Ancelotti’s inexperience delivering on a project like that and the financial and long term implications of that strategy for the club (i.e we aren’t City or PSG)?

Well PSG have only been relevant in the last 5/6 years i'd say. Ancelotti took over that club in 2011 and if you look at their first team squad from when he took over its slightly above average at a push. Sure they had 2 or 3 decent players already at the club ( much like ourselves ), but the rest of the squad was average or slightly above average at best. Once he took over he added to those 2 / 3 decent players and brought in the likes of Thiago Motta, Thiago Silva, Marco Veratti, Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi, Lucus Moura and Beckham. Those other average first team squad players also improved under him and went on to have decent careers themselves.

Before him, PSG went through a spell of not winning anything for about 15 years. It was under him that PSG started to become the attraction they are today. I'm not saying that we'll become champions of England in his first season here or that we'll even win anything; i'm saying that when he took over at PSG, not many of the squad that were at the club when he arrived, if any, would make any team of his in the last 20 years either.

Carlo Ancelotti attracts big name players and he can also clearly identify a player of world class potential.

The concern over his appointment originates from jealous bellends who can't accept lil arl Everton FC are being ambitious and want to have a go. The same bellends who had hoped lil arl Everton FC stayed a no mark of a club, a wannabe attraction, the best of the rest.
PSG was bought in June 2011 by QTI. Ancelotti took over the club in December 2011. They were three points behind Montpellier, which was also status at the end of the season. During the summer they bought: Thiago Silva, Lucas Moura, Lavezzi, Zlatan, Verratti, Van Der Wiel, Beckham. At the total cost of € 151.00m. Players already in the club: Gameiro, Pastore, Motta (Jan 2012) Maxwell, Matuidi and Menez. There were no clubs in France that could compete with PSG. Yes, CS won the league the second season, but it can hardly be considered a great achievement with the resources available.

Loving those win percentages and honours.

Exactly.

For the most part finishing well below mid table struggling.

Under Moyes for the most part finishing well above mid table, 5th, 6th. But apparently that was dire.
The football was dire, we didn’t win a pot and Moyes entire personality depressed me and summed us up as a club. “Plucky little Everton, they’ll make it hard for you at Goodison!” whilst Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea hoovered up trophies playing attacking football.

It was dire.
