Carlo Ancelotti

Let’s just hope having a serial winner in Ancelotti changes that.

I think it will or hope it will. Successful people stamp their identity on their surroundings. Unfortunately people who have invested their lives become surplus to requirements. Nobody likes to see that but unfortunately it's a necessary evil.

If it's players, management, the tea lady or even the Chairmen, to make something competitive, harsh decisions need to be made. To ensure that the existing staff have a future. Serial winners make unpalatable decisions.

As a Club, sometimes we've looked more like a charitable organisation, than a football team who is in the business of winning.

Remember lads, if you all start moaning and judging him from day one you will just be making your own lives miserable, and at the same time cramming the forum with negativity and giving us all eye AIDS for having to read it.

This is a long term project which isn’t going to be fixed overnight.

this guy knows success in a way we could only dream about, so any whiny early conclusions should be ignored as incredible gross stupidity.

All aboard the Ancelotti express, we have been truly blessed. The best Christmas present ever from EFC.

Spot on mate.

This is the one guy that will get as long as he needs from me no matter how long it takes and it probably will take a while considering he will need to do a full rebuild from top to bottom. Could not have said that about any of the previous managers tbh but can say it with absolute confidence with this guy.

He is the 'one' to steal a cringe worthy phrase from the matrix.

Of course you’ll always get the odd tit complaining even if we won the World Cup.

.....the pinnacle of club Football.

I agree though. If we finish in the top six at any point over the next 3 years, we'll have done well.

Arteta's gonna do an amazing job at Arsenal turning things around, while Ancelotti struggles to get us out of the bottom half. Never a doubt. lol

Can I ask you a question mate. If Eddie Howe had of been appointed. Do you think we'd be looking at a top 6 finish within the next three years?

Has Eddie Howe been given the same funds that (we expect / hope) Ancelotti is given? If so, then yes, the target would be the same. Why would it be any different?

Mate, this is what people don't seem to grasp, Ancelotti has averaged a new job roughly every 19 months over the last decade.

That doesn't necessarily mean he definitely won't be here for 4 or 5 years, but it certainly implies that he's not a bloke for a long rebuild project.

Personally I'm not convinced the tea lady makes too much difference.

No we wouldn’t. Marco Silva had no applicable experience in the top 5 leagues either.

IIRC Ancelotti has never taken over a side not already in Europe since his 1st job in Football almost 25 years ago with Reggiana.
You say that but also agree that he's one of the best and most illustrious in world football, I really don't get it mate.

I know you don't mate.

You can still like the guy and say he's an exceptional manager but disagree that he's right for us, right now. It comes back to my 'horses for courses' argument. Whether you agree or not is upto you, I don't believe Guardiola would be able to seamlessly adapt to running a club like Tranmere. Just as Micky Mellon wouldn't be able to work with a team like City. Before anyone starts, I'm not saying we are the equivalent of Tranmere in this situation, I'm just giving an extreme to illustrate the argument.

Both teams very happy with their respective managers, both good managers at what they do, but there are different skills required to do different jobs. There are challenges that Mellon faces at Tranmere that are utterly alien to Guardiola that he's never had to deal with before, and vice versa.

No doubt happening due to the amount of money we are throwing at him, but I hope that even without European football we can attract big names to get us there with players wanting to play under him
I've always said that we needed to attract a big name to manage the club and if it meant throwing all kinds of dough his way then we should absolutely be doing that - a top managerial appointment is the most important thing that the club has needed for ages. Made up that this is finally happening.
