Remember lads, if you all start moaning and judging him from day one you will just be making your own lives miserable, and at the same time cramming the forum with negativity and giving us all eye AIDS for having to read it.

This is a long term project which isn’t going to be fixed overnight.

this guy knows success in a way we could only dream about, so any whiny early conclusions should be ignored as incredible gross stupidity.

All aboard the Ancelotti express, we have been truly blessed. The best Christmas present ever from EFC.
I’m prepared to give him 18 months
2 jan and 2 summer windows before I begin to judge
But then again as mere mortals have we the right to Judge Ancelotti.

The park end will give him 45 mins of the first home match before they start booing

The eyes of the world are going to be on us. This is what we are getting, a manager who can stand beside Ferguson and Paisley. Let that sink in...and let that sink in again..

This man is a legend. The players he has worked with are legends in the game, long after you and I have passed. Their names will be remembered. Let that sink in. He's going to be manager of Everton Football Club.

Have you got your breath back yet, "but we should have appointed Moyes" STFU you eejit. Nothing can be the same again. It's a game changer in every sense of the word.

So what do we have? We have a manager who's win ratio is off the charts. A manager who not only can work with the best in game but can recruit them. A man who not only bought the tee-shirt he wrestled the copyright and re-invented it. That's who we have.

Let that sink in.

For the lords sake, don't fcuk this up. Cause it a'int getting better than this. Being Everton they'll snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Just kiddin' we will conquer all before us. Honestly I just want to die knowing we'll win something again in my life time.

It's not a long term project though is it. Carlo ancelotti doesent do long term projects and hasn't done so since AC Milan when he had a side of legends.

People seriously need to look at the circumstances here.
At the start of next season most of the first team will be completely different

Instead of asking does ancelotti do long term projects maybe ask if those said clubs do long term projects. Coaches come and go at clubs like Real Madrid and PSG.
Up until a few weeks ago we were heading straight to the championship under marco silva. We now look like having one of the most trophy honoured managers in europe. Even if he's here for a few seasons he will attract a better quality player.
I'm cautious about it i wont lie. But to go from marco silva to carlo ancelotti in the space of a few weeks. Yeah, dam right i will go with it despite being cautious.

Has Eddie Howe been given the same funds that (we expect / hope) Ancelotti is given? If so, then yes, the target would be the same. Why would it be any different?

Mate, this is what people don't seem to grasp, Ancelotti has averaged a new job roughly every 19 months over the last decade.

That doesn't necessarily mean he definitely won't be here for 4 or 5 years, but it certainly implies that he's not a bloke for a long rebuild project.
8 years at Milan

What’s our January budget? I want ALL the players.

Considering we had a £38 million bid rejected for Docoure & £52 million knocked back for Zaha (minus £28 million for Iwobi who imo was a panic replacement) I would imagine £50-80 million at a guess?

Hopefully Tosun & Schneiderlin can be sold to help raise funds also.

8 years at Milan

That started almost 20 years ago and that's the only club he's been at longer than 2 years - in a managerial career spanning 25 years.

His average time in roles at Reggiana, Parma, Juventus, Chelsea, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern and Napoli has been little over 19 months in each role.

He was also sacked in 6 of those 8.

Now, if you were a betting man, I'm sure you'd wager a stay of less than 2 years here (probably ending in a sacking too) given the stats put before you.

Stats don't always paint the picture, of course, but they're still important reference points and usually are a good measure of what's to come.
